Ipswich Players Released

Gary

No wonder my post count..
Seven Ipswich Town players whose contracts expire in June have been told they will not be offered new deals.

Ivan Campo, Tommy Miller, Billy Clarke, Dean Bowditch, Chris Casement, Jai Reason and Kurt Robinson have all been released by manager Roy Keane.

The Town boss says the club is in talks with Alex Bruce, Shane Supple and Ed Upson about potential new deals.

Any pickings of the failures for forest? Campo is a legend up here in Bolton.

(We could have Camp and Campo also!)

I remember Billy Clarke was a hot prospect at one time too. Not sure any of them would take us forward though.

none of those would improve our squad and campo would be another gary holt , lennon , cole type mistake signing.

Nail on the head there.

And I think Ipswich found that out first hand!

Tommy Miller wouldn't be a bad signing to add depth to the middle of the park

I agree. I'd rather have him than Clingan who some are suggesting paying to get back.

Exactly, bizarre.

He hasn't been any good since he left Ipswich the first time.

As a back-up player on small wages why not? He's 30 and has experience of the top flight.

No-one's said anything about retirement.

What makes you so sure he'd accept low wages?

Sorry, I misread the reply hence why I tried to edit my post before your reply but alas, too slow.

I think he'd accept low wages because he's currently without a club and as you say, hasn't been up to standards he set earlier in his career when he would have been a solid premiership midfielder. I don't think that's a problem for us though, we're mid-table championship, he has something to offer....

I'd rather we spent big on Dex/Gunter and a centre back than shell out money for a centre midfield place which realisticly only needs a backup.
