Interesting few weeks ahead

Looking purely at SCHEDULED league matches in the next eight matches seven of our opponents are in the top ten in the division.

Cardiff, Birmingham, Ipswich, Reading AWAY
QPR, Preston, Swansea HOME

I realise that Birmingham is likely to be posponed because of the FA Cup but all the same it certainly looks like being a difficult few weeks.

The way our fixtures have been structured this season has been strange. Since day 1 it's been a run of consecutive games against top clubs, followed by a run of consecutive games against smaller clubs.

We're now back on to the big clubs, ahead of our run in which almost totally winnable.

On the plus side, as long as we can pick up a few points, we're likely to stay ahead of at least Derby, Charlton and Southampton, who all seem to have gone into meltdown.

We can get something from Brum, Ipswich, QPR, Swansea and Preston - say two wins and 3 draws. I think we will certainly lose the other 2.

9 points from 7 games might not sound a lot but given our run in, I am confident that it will be enough.

Win the three home games and we'll have 9 points. In amongst those games will be Derby at home, win that, add it to those 9 points, and we'll have 45 points by the end of this run.

Yes but its not as if anyone knew where we'd be in the league!!

Our form at the moment puts us firmly at the top of the league, we are down the bottom because of an awful start. As far as I'm concerned our season properly started on 3rd Jan, who's to say we can't get anything, or more, against these "top" sides?! yes it will be tough but I reckon opposition teams are well aware of our form and the fact we quickly moving up the table. Our league position is deceptive and I believe if any of our next few opponents think for a minute we are prey, they will be punished and left with a proverbial egg on their face.

We fear no one at the moment and have absolutely no reason to, let's keep it up!

Interesting few weeks , more like scary few weeks. Does anyone dread the upcoming few weeks with the size of our squad currently with so many players having injuries ?!?

With a fully fit squad I would be confident against anyone if this league at the moment however with the injury situation how it is at the moment we are really going to struggle unless we get some players back quickly.
If all players who are reported to be absent are out of todays game, I fear we could be in for a hiding.

I can't see us failing to win all the rest of our games this season.

To be honest we are 17 points off play places at the moment (I think!)

Every side in this league is beatable and we've drawn with Reading, Brum and Ipswich and looked the better side on all 3 occassions. They were under Calderwood.

We now take the chances we get and don't concede as many so shouldn't we be looking at the fixtures in a positive manner??

I would say the only side I fear playing is Wolves.

Did anyone else notice that Lee Camp was in the Championship team of the day in the NOTW after his performance yesterday for QPR?

I did, yeah.

Was talking to my mate about him the other day and he said Cerny's injured and so Camp has come in and it's looking like he'll keep his place even when Cerny's fit again.

We've missed the boat with this one.

I think that we will be succesfull in our remainling leauge games.

Yesterday we clashed with a side that are 4th and are drawing with arsenal and on a good run.

Our forthcoming side, some of which are a bit vunurable, all look as if we can beet them.

We hargley ever win at cardiff,

U REDSS!
