Who would you drop when Perch is back, i had this discussion yesterday with someone and we couldn't come up with a place for him in the starting 11

I'd personally stick him at right back, with Gunter at left back.

Probably the same story with Bennet? But I suppose BD will rotate in defence once he's able to, giving them all the chance.

I'd give him a try as a centre back...it's only a matter of time until Wilson falls asleep during a match.

Otherwise Gunter is overdue to be 'rotated'...

You don't drop anyone. Perch will make a good squad player.

but will he be happy to go from club captain last season to bench warmer?

Is there such a thing as a 'bench warmer' in Billy's squads? His rotation policy has meant that pretty much everyone apart from Smithy and McLeary have played some games this season.

Sod him. If he's expecting to walk back into the side when we've significantly increased the quality in his two positions (Gunter, McKenna) then he's hatstand.

perch = shit, only puts in the odd good tackle
earnshaw is fit so it dont matter
benet = dedicated player, but will be shite when he comes back, still a left back

I suppose he might have to go out on loan to get his edge back, seeing as there's no reserves for that now ..?

Collymore!

To be fair on bennett it's goning to take him at least a month after he return from injury to get "match fit" again...

But after that I would just put him in the side and leave him (let him settle). At the moment he hardly has much competition and aslong as he shows me a bit of fight combined with not getting caught out of position all the time (which he can as he is a naturaly left-back) he will be the best we have!

I think you could put Perch at left back. Perch certainly isn't "shit" as someone has put above. To his credit he can play almost anywhere across the midfield or defence and has saved Forest's bacon a few times. When Perch comes back and plays at either RB or LB he'll be a very good asset.

Banging on about rotation again, but being a utility man like this, Billy can stick him anywhere in the side to give players a rest where needed. That's likely to be useful in defence seeing as we're so short there.

Earnshaw is fit, so it does'nt matter.

I know it's not exactly the point you are making, but this is a quote from BBC's match preview:

"Boss Billy Davies, who has used fewer players (18) than any other manager in the Championship this season"

Now don't get me wrong, I think he's mixed it up a bit too much this season (how many starting line-up's have been precisely predicted by the majority? not many), but it's an interesting stat.

I'd like to see the stats for percentage of games started by our 'best' players though...and I'd expect that figure to be 22 if we had options for each of our back four...
