Injured Blunts Defender

Clash with big Dele, from where I was sitting, E Block main stand, it looked like the lad was slightly slower than Dele into the challange and collided with his shoulder, no malice or intent what so ever.

Any news on the injured lad because it did look a nasty clash, anyone else confirm my original thoughts of a nasty accident ?

is that the perfectly good 50-50 which left a player with a Broken Cheekbone? and resulted in a free kick as he was late?

and I suppose you missed some of the challanges you lot get away with.....
The challenge was late he broke a players cheekbone taking him out for weeks .
An idiot of a manager complaining about time wasting , no class ,shame on him!

Morgan nearly killed someone not that long ago, right ?

Last game v Leeds Ward nearly broke a Leeds player leg, right ?

I thought Dele led with his elbow, but appreciate I'm not exactly close - would be interested in seeing a replay.

who was it who kicked Bertie in the face, Williamson ?

The blunts cant possibly be unhappy with the challenge from Dele. Don't they employ that thug Morgan? pot kettle black etc

What goes around, comes around.

While it's not nice to see a player go off, there is no way that was intentional. We got a taste of our medicine tactic-wise tonight, it's about time those shithouse supporters of that horrid club took stock.

Well speed has come out and said there was no malice from dele so he wasnt complaining about the challenge. It was just one of those things; the reaction from the sheff utd players though was nothing short of disgraceful. Actually they were disgraceful throughout the game begging the ref to book/send off our players.

At the time I thought it was a clash of heads with Dele arriving late. A foul without a doubt. Possibly a booking but certainly not malicious as Speed to his credit said.

Aye, Speed deserves credit. From my seat (VC Corner) it looked like he lead with his elbow, so can understand - if the players thought similar - their reaction. The ref, whilst be a prize tool, was well positioned and I'm sure would've taken action if t'were anything like my first impression.

Ward never touched him, yes he was an idiot and it was a straight red but thankfully he didn't touch him. Would have been his ankle not leg anyway!

Speed has already said the challenge wasn't your players fault and no blame was being put on him!

that challenge was horrible, yes he didn't touch him but he went in to bloody hurt him. Touched him or not he deserves the same punishment as if he did touch him.

My first impression was that too, and we were very close. As you suggest, a replay would be interesting if they show it. The camera would also be a long way away though.

Which he got - a red card!
I am not surprised our players reacted like they did last night - who wouldn't when the injury looks serious?! I am not commenting on it as I haven't seen it but I trust what Speed has said since!

We aren't!

Good to see Speed not blaming Dele. These things happen in football. Not sure Warnock or Blackwell would have been quite so forgiving though.

For what it's worth, I thouht Dele did a good job last night getting amongst them. Whilst not always winning the ball, he prevented them from getting the easy headed clearances they had been winning all night.

Depends on the challenge, don't think Blackwell would have said anything bad if he saw the same thing as Speed did. He wasn't THAT bad.

I wonder why the Sheffield players reacted so badly when one of their players gets a (by all accounts) accidental elbow in the face. With Morgan in their squad they probably get to spend all week practising against deliberate elbows in the face. They ought to be used to it by now.

Was waiting for a post like this and I wasn't let down. :D :D :D

Love being hated!

after what Morgan did to that poor sod they deserve every elbow to the face they get.

Nice, Bartley has nothing to do with any other members of our squad and what they have done in the past. Stupid thing to say. Would you say the same thing if we had one your players on loan? Don't think so.
