Wouldn't it just be amazing if Norwich and Derby were to get relegated, just imagine how Kris Commons and Sammy Clingan would be feeling knowing we stayed up....i would find that scenario bloody fantastic :)

I don't think that is mathematically possible, as So'ton can't catch Derby.

Thats why i say in an ideal world, the only reason i say it, is because i had my brother in law round today and he is a Derby fan, and we were talking as he says Commons has put a bit of weight on, and i said i wished Derby went down.

lol

To be honest, I'd be ecstatic with staying up.

Finishing above Derby and Norwich would be extra amusing due to the Commons/Clingan factor :)

It's certainly possible, but I think it unlikely that we'll catch the Sheep.

I agree looking at the fixtures they have left.

but I'm sure they've been 'one win away from saftey for a good few weeks now, a good couple of results next weekend and who knows, it'd be great to send them down ;D

They say the grass is greener on the other side. I think Sammy in particular is finding that it isn't. You don't hear much about Commons lately. If Billy thinks Lewis is overweight, he would of had a fit seeing Kris lol

"I'm absolutely delighted to be joining a big club like Norwich City," added Clingan. "I'm leaving a good club to join Norwich and I'm really looking forward to trying to get them promoted to the Premier League.

"Once I had spoken to Glenn Roeder and viewed the fantastic facilities at the club, it was an easy decision to make. I knew of Glenn's managerial reputation, working with big-name players in the Premier League, and hopefully he will help me become a better player too."

He was always a bit of a weird twat wasn't he, so reeling of the usual spiel about how great the training facilities were being the decision to sign is about as eloquent as he ever got. Pull the other one Sammy, they offered you a huge cheque, and you buckled. And you know what I wouldn't have him back, no siree. And that's not just sour grapes cos I'd have Commons back any day of the week.

And while I'm at it Glen Roeder is a woeful manager Sammy, which is probably why he though signing a very average player, like yourself, would be the key to success.

I'd have Clingan back in a heartbeat.

It would be funny if he and Norwich were to go down, I can't see him sticking around though, there will be plenty of suitors in the summer.

Sammy was decent for us, but we've moved onward and upward. Lewis hasn't been the most consistent recently, but I'm sure Billy will sort him out over summer and with his talent we could have a Premiership bound midfielder in our squad.
Moose and Perch have shown they have what it takes to fill Clingan's boots. Cohen has been shifted into left midfield because we have a quality centre and Cohen is twice the player Clingan is.

We've missed a Commons type flair player at times and I'm sure with him in the squad we'd be looking comfortable in mid-table at the moment. I don't think our position would be any different if Sammy had stayed put.

f*** him anyway, enjoy League One again. :hi:

Agree with most of that mate, Even the Commons bit, but I dont think I would ever welcome him back regardless of how much we could do with him, Mcleary could turn into quite a flair player for us, from the sounds of it he had a cracking second half on saturday.

I don't think he would have played much under BD. Billy would have told him to lose some weight and he would have gone off and sulked.

McLeary showed quite a bit of flair the other day :)

If the players we got rid of could do a job for us again, I would have them back but ........first, they would have to appear at a Forest home game and do a lap of the running track on their knees, wearing something girly. Then I'd let them sign (If we wanted them). Commons? yeah. Clingan? Don't think so - who would he replace? Squad player - on bench maybe.

McCleary went past the poor Coventry left back so many times, he'll probably check under his bed before he goes to sleep to make sure he's not got past him again.

Garath has looked a different player since Billy Davies had a rant at him (and later admitted in the media that he rates McCleary); he could turn in to a real find for us, and for what we paid (two halves of bugger all, if I remember) that's a definite bargain.
