Ive got a niggly feeling, what with all the unpresidented talk of BDs targets, and the rumours of 20m backing that we MAY be aiming to get promoted (woohoo...get in ),but even with 6 additional strikers i dont think were ready as a team and neither is the Club in IMO .

Jeez i hope im wrong as i think if we get promoted,we may be a laughing stock..lets build on what we got no need for heroics YET!! Take Care

i dont think we should even think about promotion next season, Id be delighted with a mid table finish and perhaps at BEST a late push for play offs that fails..just short.

id also like a quarter final appearance in a cup..., but promotion, I don't think we are ready for it..still stranger things have happened...all i really hope is we don't have a season like this last one ever again.

Tbh the cups mean fack all to me ! The man city matches happen once every 10 years to each club. The league improves a side, attracts players and raises income.

Mid table. Building a legacy is ol Billy !

Promotion is a dirty word, a lot like Crevice, that's a dirty word.
You know, I'd never really thought about it before, but now you mention it 'Crevice' is a dirty word.

I was thinking about this today and although I think a mid table finnish is the best bor the club if billy does sign all our loan players is our team really that much weaker than the one that got into the play offs under hart?

I'm sorry, but I really don't believe that if we go into the final few games of next season with a chance of a play off place you will want us to fail!

It doesn't matter how many years of preparation you get no team can be fully prepared for the Premier League, and survival in that first year is always an up hill task.

I say if it happens grab it with both hands and hope Billy learnt some lessons from last time.

Oh and I've always quiet liked fanny batter! :-*

Short answer: Yes

Long answer: Yes and the league has significantly improved since the last time we did well in it.

I realised it was binary, and being one of that rare bread of people who understands binary I was trying to figure out whether + 111111011000110101011100001110011 actually meant anything or was it just a random number? I even converted it to BCD, hex, octal and of course decimal but it still looks meaningless.

Now that I've made myself look like a complete and utter f***ing geek I must point out that I also drink beer and shag birds and stuff.

Bear with me i'm slightly toasted on one side...

Any businessman in the current climate would want to secure as much income as possible going into the next financial year, even with the mid-term risk of relegation as this would also bring with it the promise of parachute payments that total more than the club is likely to earn from another season in the Championship. So why not promotion next season?

Based on the average income for promoted clubs, we would receive £48m revenue in the first season. If we laid out £20m in transfers and £20m in wages we would end the year with a sizeable profit. Even if we get relegated the parachute payment would bring in approx. £11m - meaning we go down with a £19m profit to build on. Crude sums granted, but surely a businessman of Nigel's pedigree would make better sense of it than any of us could.

As long as we manage the sums correctly and learn from the recent mistakes made by many clubs, i don't think relegation in the first season back would be the disaster we all imagine it to be. And would surely act as a springboard to longer-term stability.
