Why employ any of them, they will all be losers.

This club needs winners not cast off's from relegated rivals

So if we stayed up and newcastle came down, you wouldn't bid for Ameobi?

Because he's done what?

I'd rather we went for one or two players from Wolves & whoever else get promoted to the Prem but may not be quite good enough for the prem

Players who know about winning in this league & have proved they can do it.

Players who don't think they are bigger than the club they just got relegated & therefore look for an easy way out to keep their wages on CCC level.

I disagree, to a certain extent.

Nicky Bailey for example has shined for Charlton despite their poor season and would be a useful player for us, as would Andy Keough (SP) if we were to lure him away from Wolves after their promotion (TBC ;) season.

If your strategy were to exist in all clubs then it could be argued that if Norwich stayed up, Chris Cohen wouldnt be a good signing for them because he is a loser?

I'm sick & tired of my club being used as a meal ticket.

If a player is that good but plays in a team that got relegated then he owes it to the fans & the club to give them at least one year to fight to get them promoted.

I don't want players who just want out because their team got relegated.

As for the Cohen question, what has he done over & above other players plying their trade in the CCC to make me want to buy him instead of them? Has he hit 10 goals from midfield? (for the record he's got 2 in the league)

I just think we should be looking higher than players of relegated teams, why not one or two Fester or P'Boro players?

Poor argument, midfielders are not judged on goals and goals alone. For a midfielder who gets through the work Cohen does, goals are an added bonus at this level. He's fantastic going backwards, left footed and has a terrific spirit which can be infectious.

I'd ask you who has had a better season - McGugan or Cohen?

McGugan's got more than double the goals in the league, has he had twice as good a season? Not at all.

If we go down, and I don't think we will, Cohen will be highly sought after by CCC teams, and I wouldn't rule out a lower Premiership team taking him on board, similar to how Middlesbro took on Ben Watson.

Wigan actually. And I'd welcome Lee Croft that's about it, agree with Gary_Baldy's point to a certain degree.

Zheng Zhi from Charlton. Been injured all season but still a decent player. And i wouldn't mind some of the players they've had on loan.

Players don't become bad just because they were in a relegated team. Jonjo Shelvey and Nick Bailey would both be very good signings.

We have players that other teams could benefit from. Players like Earnshaw for example. If we went down those sort of players could easily go to another CCC team and get promoted.

I've made that mistake before.

Just one of those things that'll never sink in. He's a Middlesbrough player in my head.

The lad Shelvey at Charlton impressed me a lot. He'll be a top player one day.

Only problem is we may not need midfielders if we can persuade Anderson and Osbourne to stay.

If we're looking for defenders I'm not sure the relegated teams have much to offer. We need 4 new defenders and a 'keeper. I would like to pick a couple of young promising lads (from any division) but also a couple of more experienced heads from the Championship. If we stay up I still believe we have some 'big club draw' compared to some of smaller but recently more successful clubs like Preston/Burnley/Plymouth.

IF IF IF IF IF IF ....

Marshall.

Jonjo Shelvey has not long turned 17 and he's Charlton's best player, we should try and sign him if we don't get relegated.
