...billy struggles to get last years form out of the squad becuase they have become complacent as they have no real competition for places becuase the fringe players are not pushing them would a change of manager give them all the kick up the backside?

before you all jump down my throat in shock and horror at such a stupid suggestion just give it some thought for a few brief seconds, it is possible that with this squad and billy tactics he can not take the club any further due to the lack of new faces he needs to mix it up a bit, you here the line from teams all the time that the manager has taken the current squad as far as he can and this could well be the case for current side. We all saw the effect Kinnear had on the hart squad when he came there was a surge in form and competition for places as fringe players where eager to impress there new boss and first teamers worrying about losing there place.

now I really do hope we do sign 2-3 players before window shuts but if we do fail to I also hope billy can get them motoring again becuase we all know what the team is capable of achieving but if it doesnt happen would a new manager get them going again with the honeymoon effect or would it just doom our season completely.

Simply put, I don't think any manager can 'jig it up a bit' when the starting eleven picks itself and there is no one to come off the bench and change things.

We're a settled side, pretty much, we need some additions to the playing squad. Changing the manager does nothing, they'll still inherit the same problems.

I don't think you're right. If Billy is not able to bring in players then why would a new manager be able to? Therefore in all likelihood we'd just have the same set of players. I also think we'd struggle to bring in a manager who is better than Billy as well.

Billy is the best manager we could get at this point in time.

We should all back him and whichever XI he picks!

didn't we have a poor start to last season in the championship. When that win comes, and it will and dex and Earnie start firing, which they will I'm sure we wont have anything to worry about.

If we had won all our preseason games, the two leauge and Bradford would we be moaning about the lack of new additions still?

the performances where there last season though and we did have a god awefull run away from home either, Im not saying another manager will bring players in as thats the APs job and window will be shut by then anyway, I am 100% behind billy and think he is the best manager in the championship, but if he cant get us out of this rut and the reason is becuase the 11 picks itself and those fringe players are not pushing the 11 for a place im asking would a change in personal change players attitudes?

the performances where there last season though

Not consistently.

They were there through november to the end of january. But prior to that it was much the same as it was at burnley 2 weeks back, and after january we played some pretty poor stuff at times, and the champagne football never really came back- but we were great at grinding out results at home.

thats my point at the begining of last season the performances (apart from watford) where there but we just didnt get the breaks, after the wba game in jan they where poor but people didnt care because we where winning, we finnished 3rd and this masked the fact we where actually carrying form that wasn't worthy of that position, I want to be optimistic and think this is a billy slow start but I think this is us doing a reading and carrying last seasons form with us.

yes we played well for 20 mins against leeds and so we bloody should there a league one outfit ffs who have lost 2 of the best players over the summer they will struggle at the lower half of this table this season yes its early days but we should be beating these teams with ease if we are serious promotion contenders

Punc.tu,freaking!ation)

Forest will win this division this season, by about 14 points.

put 10 bob on us to win the league, anyone else been silly enough and done the same ?
