You can cross Gannon off the list. He declined to join Peterborough full-time as he wanted to be nearer his Stockport home.

London Road, Peterborough to Stockport - 128.3 miles
City Ground, Nottingham to Stockport - 66.0 miles

I know he's a family man but that strikes me as 'commutable.'

Blimey...didn't realise there was such a big difference...

...I take that back then.

He could definitely give me a lift. Wonder whereabouts in Stockport he lives?

He probably lives in the posh area. With all the posh Man City and Sale Sharks fans.

You saying Alvar lives in the squalid, shitty part of Stockport?

Not any more, Alvar has moved his life on, and llives in a middle class area, with an inside toilet, surrounded by Manchester City fans and lesbians.

We've even got an ethnic Conservative candidate at the election. It's very cosmopolitan round my way.

I'm guessing he's got no chance of being elected. I can't see Dave being anything other than completely intimidated by anyone who isn't shiny white and public school educated.

Oh dear, I seem to have turned a debate about potential new managers into a political soapbox. If Billy leaves, can we have a decent manager? The ones mentioned above are all shit.

Working on the 'other' option anyway, if a mod can change the last one to that it saves me trying to work out how.

Ah! I see what you meant from the other thread, Mark - Option changed to "Other". :)

Oh - bloody hell, that's a godawful list of choices! lol

'Other' is winning already.

No wonder my post count..
Phil Brown? His prem record isn't the best, but it isn't the worst.

Cheers for that.

I thought of some ok managers and some crap ones but mainly out of work where possible.
Was more interested to see the standard that people would settle for now that some see us as in a better position now to attract better managers.

Bloody hell !!! last time I do a sodding poll.

Phil Brown was one of the reasons I did this damn thing, thought he would be a front runner.

Off the list the serious options were, Pardew, Curbs, Coppell and Southgate. Brown was supposed to be in there.

Southgate always seemed all right, although voting for him because I thought Boro were harsh sacking him was probably daft really. We could do worse of course, but he hasn't got Billy's experience. Who has got that much Championship experience? Then again, if we did go up, Southgate's Prem experience would be more useful anyway.
