Hope he stays; he's improved out of all recognition this season and midfielders are so important to wresting the ball and controlling the game.

I don't think we'll sell him, Maxi but you suggested in another thread that there wouldn't be a market for him. Why do you think that, out of interest?

There's definitely a market for someone like Sangare. He's reliable, disciplined, breaks play up, takes it and keeps it in unbelievably tight areas and he's strong. He's someone that allows everyone in front to play too giving a lynchpin and security behind them. He's a player that Man United would look a lot better for having.

Few things:

1) Currently injured, and probably won't play either of the last two games. Puts a doubt on actual fitness over summer even if he did pass a medical.
2) He's been here three years and only really been good in one of them.
3) What's our asking price? £40m? Cartel clubs aren't going to want him so would the likes of Brighton, Sunderland, Everton? Not convinced. Don't think any European side is paying that either.
4) Anderson almost certainly off, so Forest will want to limit attrition in central midfield, and may make it difficult for would be buying clubs. There's no market if we don't answer the phone.

Think we might want to try and create a market for him in 12 months time though, and avoid him running down his contract. Maybe with another good year of football behind him we can get an offer in that suits us both amount wise and timing wise.

Fair enough, Maxi. I can't say I agree with 1 (unless you know more about the injury than I do) and just because we don't answer the phone doesn't mean the market isn't there but I agree that he's only really shown his quality consistently this season and that we probably don't want to sell him and Ando in the same summer. The only reason we might want to sell him this summer is if we're getting vibes that he wants to run down his contract and we get a decent offer in.

One of the big problems with our recruitment was the scale of change. Too many new players settling at the same time and we need to avoid that this summer. If Ando is going I wouldn't want much more change in CM. Likewise if Murillo goes i can see Morato staying to maintain some consistency.

Just reading, on X, that Besiktas are pushing hard for Sangaré. And laughed. We paid €35m for him and he's just finishing a good season. Do Besiktas have the funds to make Forest even answer their messages?

What do they think we are, Crystal Palace or something?

One of the pieces of news I hope to see over the off season is Sangare signing a contract extension.

Once we took him and Anderson off we struggled to play out from the back. Neither Yates nor Dominguez are good at receiving the ball from the back four, especially against a press as good as Bournemouth's.

Need a couple of midfielders comfortable in tight situations, otherwise the drop off is too great.

Most certainly, the counter to that though was that the fresh legs meant Bournemouth stopped being to waltz through us as they had been doing.

I know some people are wondering how he will cope without Anderson next to him - but there's also a good argument to be made that Anderson played much, much better when partnered with Sangare compared to other midfielders.

They just complimented each other - similar to Milenkovic and Murillo.

Obviously it seems safe to assume that Anderson is probably off - so the big question mark over the summer is who we're going to get in to replace him and ultimately partner Sangare.

Anyone remember the end of the first half against Bournemouth last weekend. Where he just twisted and turned about 10 times around the oppo players and didn't look like losing possession. That's one of the big differences between him and Yates, that confidence and strength when on the ball.

This is just as important as getting a few new signings in. If Sangare can stay fit, he'll be a key player next season, more so if Anderson leaves.
