Iain Turner!!

Absolute legend! He may well have kept us up with his second half performance today. Turner for England!!!

First half - not impressive.

Penalty save onwards - fantastic.

Just goes to show what a bit of confidence can do.

Exactly!

Confidence is probably the most vital thing for a goalkeeper!

First half he was shocking.

For every corner or freekick Macken bent over infront of him and he couldn't come out to claim the ball.

Second half, he couldnt do anything about the goal. Lucky header but even the best of keepers wouldnt have kept that out.

Poor penalty but his confidence grew from then on and he made some great saves, and his distribution was abit better too.

Because for a good hour he was very poor, for 45 minutes completely shocking, and for 30 minutes decent.

Absolute legend? absolutely not
Kept us up? using the same logic with his first 45 mins he was very lucky he didnt send us down.
Turner for England? He's Scottish

So yeah, i'm assuming the thread was/is a piss take

Until he saved the penalty he was Paul Smith on a bad day, thereafter he looked a good keeper and made some very good saves. Hopefully he's got the confidence to take that level of performance into the next match.

He was brilliant in the 2nd half.

Looked as timid as Smith in the 1st though. What was he doing when that ball bounced in his box about 4 yards out?

I think the penalty gave him a huge boost in terms of confidence.

Before that he was playing to a similar standard of Smith on a bad day if it was Smith in goal today then we would all have complete focus on the 1st half performance.

Lee Camp is better than Iain Turner and Paul Smith :p

Is it only me that thinks that Smith and probably most keepers would have saved the penalty ?

It was an awful spot kick ...

Not taking anything away from Turner mind, he's no better than Smith and had a dodgy start, but he made some brilliant saves towards the end of the game and was much much better than his opposite number.

Nick.

Once known as Nick.Doyle.nffc on 'ere.

Smith would of saved it, Lee Camp would of saved it. Barry Roche would of fumbled it in.

Bloody awful spot kick and I think the majority of keepers would have got to it but it doesn't really matter. It gave him the confidence boost he needed to enable him to be so sound for the rest of the match.

It wasn't a great pen, but you've got to go the right way first. They always look much easier to save than they are.

your crazy, smith is so much bettah!

he would have saved that, done a back flip then slam dunked it at madison square garden.
