It seems its the textbook quote these days every time someone makes a comment on our current ****e form and lack of signings, oh well we have done really well so far, so it doesnt matter, i would have taken a 10th place finish at the start of the season, we have outdone all expectations so far, we have only lost 4 times , its no biggie there is a lot of foootball left etc.

What utter ****e!

our current form is now 3 losses in 5, not 3 in 23 or whatever, we are blowing a chance we might not get again for another decade, but oh well i would have taken losing in the playoffs to leicester at the start of the seaon, etc, etc.

I hadnt forgotten, no, same as i havent forgot we won the european cup twice, had the best manager ever and were the first team to use goalposts.

That said, that was then, and this is now, we are were we are, doesnt matter if we didnt expect it, we are in the position we are in, not intrested in forcasts at the start of the season, interested in today, and the reality of today.

:dan::dan::dan::dan: Let's sack Davies, it's not good enough!

In reality we've narrowly lost 3 away games 1-0, which we were drawing or scraping a win in before, despite not playing that great in.

The reality is, this is what happens in football - form comes and goes, the unexpected happens... nobody expected us to go 19 unbeaten and now a lot of people are coming crashing down from fantasy land because of it.

We just need to stop panicing! Get back to playing our strongest 11 and attempt to play good football again. It seems to me we've stopped doing that since the Derby game.

Did people really expect us not to go through the season without hitting a bad run of form? It was inevitable something like this would happen.

People should also consider the possibility that we were punching above our weight with the small squad we have and Davies was doing fantastically well to get the performances out of the players he was doing.

People who saw us play West Brom on telly, then bought an away membership to get Derby tickets clearly didn't.

Hopefully now they've seen a few below-par performances they hop off the bandwagon again and leave the fans who support the team to do their job.

Looking at the table, as I do each Sunday morning after matins, I noticed only 3 teams in the Championship have scored fewer away goals but none have scored more at home. Kinda strange.

Goes to show that we go away to play defensively, while trying to attack teams at home.

Dont they say win your home games draw your away games and you should get promoted?

Yeah I agree with that. Wolves lost 10 games last season didn't they? We've lost 6 so far. Something that was touched on before was that we were drawing a lot of away games, but if we win our next one, it kind of makes up for the 3 losses we've had, which we could have nicked 1 point from. Whether we do that or not is a different matter.

And let's not forgot, we're in a period of 5 games in 15 days, that's going to be tough for any team! And we have an easier run in than others who are playing the whipping boys like Plymouth and Scunny now.

Well that's a good game plan, and - up to the end of January - you would have to say it worked; a long unbeaten run away, grinding out results.

But it may be that the "surprise" factor of Forest has gone now, other teams know who we are and possibly how we will play; so they are making things more difficult for us.

I still think we've got enough firepower to push on, when we get over this recent wobble (and we will!) to push us in to the top two.

Newcastle aren't looking bombproof at the moment, and there are still 15 games to go for us to pick up enough points to grab an automatic spot.

So far, you could say we are punching well above our weight this season, and that is reflected in our league position. Recent games have perhaps also shown the limited numbers Billy has available, which is probably why he is so annoyed about us not signing anyone in January.

Next Thursday could be a crucial day; I think that from Thursday, that is then 93 days to the Playoff final, so if we were to loan a player, if we do so on Thursday or after, they'd be available for the Playoffs, which we look at least well placed to achieve.

We have also conceded the least goals away.

think it was winnits that made a very good point in another thread. we are performing pretty much the same as we have been all season away from home, the last 3 weeks the luck has left us and we have lost games 1-0 maybe the luck will return and we will pick up the draws again, maybe it wont.

the important thing I feel now is not do what I have done this week and over anaylse it all, dont panic with a knee jerk reaction, and just enjoy the fact we are 3rd and if we are there in may we have a 1-4 chance of promotion.

also if we dont do it this season look at the **** that is falling out the premiership teams with cripling debt that might not bounce straight back so we could well be In a great possition next year to get promotion

I had that thought, Newcastle, WBA and Middlesbrough came down with a strong chance of bouncing back looking at their squads and club size.

This season Portsmouth, Burnley and Hull are probably the three teams likely to make the drop, small clubs with no real financial backing. Portsmouth are likely to go into freefall whilst Burnley and Hull will probably just be mid-table clubs, the division is bound to be much weaker.

We have a young side, which is only going to get better as they develop. If we strengthen in the summer which we have done substantially in the past three years then we are probably a good bet for automatic promotion.

My main worry would be Billy departing for a bigger club and not signing Majewski though.
