i was one of the doom mongers who didnt want billy davies at the club, and was gutted when we lost out on nigel clough, but I take it all back. I havent been this excited about a coming season for years. We have spent a lot of money for a championship side, and I have no complaints about any of the players we have brought in. Im not ashamed to admit i was wrong, and am looking forward to coming up from london to cheer on the lads!! COME ON YOU REDS!!

Again I echo the comments of above. After the 2nd season in league 1 ,I didn't renew my season ticket (1st time in 10 years), and said I wouldn't be doing so until Calderwood goes. When Billy 'Jimmy Kranky' Davies was announced as gaffer I was all doom and gloom as I thought there was better out there.

It seems I have been prooved wrong, and again this summer (with the signings) have also pointed it out to me.

I have bought a season ticket this year (first time at an Adult price...OUCH), however I am looking forward to watching the games rather than listen to them..

You Reds !!

There was few managers with better CV's in the championship but his antics at previous clubs were a cause for concern. He is being fully backed by Doughty so unlike Davies' problems at Preston and D*rby behind the scenes, all is well here right now and I fully expect us to have a very decent season under the man with the signings we've made.

I was worried mainly about long ball.

I had little doubt that Davies knows what he's doing, but I thought there were better options out there (Nigel Clough wasn't one of them).

He kept us up, and has bought what appears to be a good bunch of players. I think he can take us all the way.

I bet for many the humble pie tastes so good, which is a good thing. I was fairly pleased with his appointment and i knew he could do what was needed, basically kick the players we had up the arse and sort out our frailties.

It's always nice to hear people admit they were wrong especially when it means that Forest are on the up and not going down :D

Was a bit woried about BD too, I was one of the Brian Laws advocates, but quite happy now

I was severly pissed off when BD was appointed.

I wanted Roy Keane, but now you realise, BD is the better manager.

I have to say, even as a relative optimist, I didn't see us making nine signings (and counting) this summer. It's been the most bizarre off-season I've ever known, and the most exciting.

I remember when we used to talk about new signings for weeks, now we can barely barely get a thread past for the first page before another one is unveiled.

As for Davies, I always backed him, as what's the point in not doing so - he is manager and it's not good for the club to keep going through them. But I wasn't crying out in triumph about it, although I would be able to name upwards of 50 managers I'd realistically rather have in charge than Nigel Clough.

I was a little deflated after the Charlton victory because the second half was the most bored I'd been at a Forest match, and I even stopped watching it at one point. However, true to the philosophy he has been quoted with elsewhere on the internet, Davies made us hard to beat and then got us playing a bit of football.

In the cold light of day, we simply couldn't afford not to win at Charlton and as it was so early on in his reign, it truly was a game to win by any means necessary.

The boring long ball argument was blown to bits by the sort of players he brought to the club on loan. The likes of Gunter and Blackstock, and even despite his lack of fitness, McSheffrey, were what we the fans wanted to see. They were given a licence, while Davies clearly has time for flair players like McCleary.

After being credit crunched and in the south last season, I'm back as a season ticket holder this time around - and I can't wait.

Billy has made some astute signings and if it comes off...........EIEIEIO UP THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE WE'LL GO.
