I love him Nigel too, in these days of callous money men I still pipe dream of Clough coming here, maybe when Derby bin him off Billy could take him under his wing as assistant. (before you roast my naivety I know this won't happen) I remember getting excited at the mere idea of a Psycho/Clough or Clough/Keane partnership. A heady combination of passion and intelligence. But gotta say BD has really hushed his critics and I'm loving his skilful manipulation of the media and allround general savvy.
Loving being a forest fan and loving the re-found loving feeling!!
Yoooooou reds!!

I loved him as a player and having been a Forest fan since he was eight years old he will always be a Forest fan in his heart.
However.
I hope the fan pressure on him becomes intolerable after an easy Forest win at PP...booing, walk outs, banners 'NLN OUT', protests etc etc

i don't think he was ever loved by forest fans - more greatly appreciated, psycho and des and to a lesser extent keane got most if not all of the adulation despite him being a great player. Personally I could never say I hate the guy but he lost alot of respect in my eyes with his behaviour last year at the CG losses, I would be absolutely delighted if he gets the boot at derby its the only thing (apart from being supposedly solvent) they can bang on about

Look face the facts, NIGEL CLOUGH HATES FOREST!.

The board at our club f**ked his old man up good & proper. Instead of giving him help they f***ing sacked him!

Now think on if they had done that to your old man after he had done so much for the club

He despises Forest, get over it

He was a very good forest player at the begining of the 90's, but I can't understand how he can prefer Derby instead Forest ?
When he came to manage Derby, I was very disappointed for him. But, I think he's doing a mighty job in derby in my forest opinion ;D

I find it quite sad that people's opinion of a person can change overnight, simply because he joins another club. He was brought up in Derby, with his dad as manager, and has lived all his life there. Of course they're special to him, and of course he fancied the job.

I think people forget that his dad is pretty much exactly the same. Spent most of his career at Forest, had wonderful times, but deep down still loved Derby and saw that as his home. He was certainly on record as saying Derby was the best job he ever had. Do we hold this against Cloughie, and give him any of the ridiculous stick Nigel gets these days? Of course not.

Nigel has another club close to his heart, with good reason, and it happens to be our rivals. Deal with it, he doesn't become a **** by default you know, that's an 8 year olds mentality.

that's abit unfair!
would you have stayed at a club who your dad had taken from mediocrity to European glory then kicked him in the teeth?
it was made almost impossible for Nigel to stay after the board refused to sack the twat who came out in the papers slating Brian, was his name Wooton? tosser anyway!

Thank for your opinion. I'm all right with an important part of that

That's true. But it's also ridiculous to say Nigel should dislike 'Forest' for anything that happened to his dad anymore than he should hate Derby for Mr. Longson's treatment of him. A club is its fans, not the chairman of the time.

I don't think he dislikes forest, he came back on loan later on, it was just extremely hard for him to stay and face the smug twat everyday

Well he was brought up there and I'm guessing he would call it his home town. Good luck to him.

Yes, I agree with you. It's people saying 'he hates Forest' that I'm taking exception to.

To say he dispises is a bit far, he is just a Derby boy, like some have said he was raised and always been around the place.

Rubbish. Unless you think he lied when interviewed for 'Deep into the Forest' which was written not long before he got the job with the Sheep.
