My favourite memeory of Ian Woan was his two goals that knocked high flying Newcastle out of the cup in 1997 at St James' Park. That was an awesome afternoon, my favourite ever away game.

I once saw him filling his car at safeway petrol station in Gamston. I waved at him from the back seat of my car and watched him refuse to sign an autograph for another young fan. he looked right at me and blanked me.

Top notch bloke Woany. My one slight claim to fame is that when he was playing here in the USA a few years ago at Syracuse I struck up a little bit of a friendship with him cos he spotted my Forest shirt in the crowd one day after a game (he kissed the Forest badge!). He got me freebie tickets to a lot of the games afterwards. Was a shame when he left really, but I always look to see where he's coaching these days and hope things work out for him wherever he is.
