Hypothetical values of our side

The thread about Morgan/Reid doing a swap has got me thinking...

If we were to sell our players, what would be the minimum you'd accept for each one?

Me?

Camp - £3.5m
Smith - £1m
Gunter - £3m
Morgan - £4.5m
Wilson - £3m
Lynch - £200k
Perch - £1m
Chambers - £700k
Anderson - £3m
McKenna - £1.5m
McGugan - £2m
Cohen - £5m
Moussi - £2m
Tyson - £1.25m
McCleary - £500k
McGoldrick - £1m
Adebola - £350k
Earnshaw - £3.5m
Blackstock - £3.5m
Garner - £1m

I'd agree with most of those. McKenna probably a hell of a lot more valuable than his price tag suggests.
I'd be a bit stingier with Morgan and Wilson too. Probably would go for under 3mill each

Look what happened to Lescott. His valuation doubled or maybe even trebled after a couple of good performances with Everton.

It's a sign of how far we have come, when only a year ago, it was banded around that no less than £5m for Mcgungan as he is worth £15m to the club.

I think those valuations are rather optimistic with nearly half the season to go...

I think we'd get more for a lot of our players now than we would in the summer.

Might sound daft, but while you're on the up, people will pay for the players they want, whereas in the summer, fringe players like Garner and McGoldrick will go for less as people will know we need to sell as they won't get a game up there.

That's exactly why valuations should be high. Players are harder to replace in January and we are very doing well. Why sell a player and risk breaking the rhythm of the side half way through our best season for years unless the bid is massive.

True.

It's a moot point for me though, without guaranteed replacements of comparable or better quality I wouldn't sell anybody.

Except maybe Joel Lynch lol

Not so comical really if you considered the initial question
I know it's purely hypothetical but if we had a 1mill bid in for Smith would we accept it with no immediate replacement lined up?
Smith has intrinsic value to the club. His market value is meaningless without considering external factors.

Wasn't it said on here that no one would buy a keeper that isn't playing? If that pearl is true, then his commercial value is zero and falling.

I think some people have an over inflated view of our players market valuation. These values are what I think other clubs would be prepared to offer for our players in the current climate. However as has been mentioned a lot of player values to our club are substancially higher and part of the reason I can't really see us selling anyone in january.

Camp - £2m
Smith - £500k
Gunter - £3m
Morgan - £2m
Wilson - £2m
Lynch - £200k
Perch - £500k
Chambers - £750k
Anderson - £1.5m
McKenna - £900k
McGugan - £1.5m
Cohen - £4m
Moussi - £1.5m
Tyson - £750k
McCleary - £500k
McGoldrick - £1m
Adebola - £350k
Earnshaw - £2.5m
Blackstock - £2.5m
Garner - £800k

These are the values that, whilst I would be disappointed for them to leave, I would accept as good value as a selling club. In other words, as others have mentioned, I think a few of our players are worth more than a lot of clubs would consider their market value to be.

Camp - £3m
Smith - £500k
Gunter - £4.5m (yes, I think he's THAT good)
Morgan - £3m
Wilson - £3m
Lynch - £500k
Perch - £500k
Chambers - £1m
Anderson - £2m
McKenna - £750k (purely due to age, I can't see anybody bidding more than that)
McGugan - £4m (this guy could be VERY good IMO, given the right chance)
Cohen - £5m
Moussi - £2m
Tyson - £500k
McCleary - £750k
McGoldrick - £750m
Adebola - £N/A (no-one will bid for him. He will retire when his contract is up here.)
Earnshaw - £3.5m
Blackstock - £3m
Garner - £1.5m

No one will bid for him ?! Wasn't he just recently linked to Ipswich ?!? I would have thought Ipswich would certainly bid for him. I imagine a few other teams will actually bid for him. I don't see a lot of strikers in the championship that is as powerful or as strong as dele.

McGugan - £4m!! if we got a quarter of that it would be a fantastic price for a player who cannot function for any more than 10mins per game (at best). McGugan will be one of those players who you look back on and think - great potential, i thought he'd be great but unfortunately never will be ala Eugeen Bopp.

my least favourite current forest player - unproffessional, over-rated, big-headed twat

Care to expand on unprofessional?

I take it you run to the bar for a cheeky few pints at half time.....i can't be arsed with the ques, so i watch the subs training...... why is it mcgugan and chambers play around with each other like 5year olds, hoofing the ball aimlessly, rolling around on the floor gayly together like they are in a year 7 PE lesson? (whilst the other 5 subs do some effective running pass or stretching). It is embarrasing to watch.

They're not the only ones.

You'd be daft to think that all players spend the 15 minutes working hard to make sure they're perfectly warm. They tend to stand around passing to eachother and playing keepy-up.

Don't think that makes him unprofessional. He's a young lad, don't forget.

They do plenty of warming up along the side-line while the game is in progress.

Personally, I think McGugan still has quite a role to play at the club. I believe Billy Davies sees him as one of the players who will want to 'take the piss out of Arsenal'.

I generally do and hadn't noticed anything to anger me quite that much - if that's all you have to get pissed off about then count yourself lucky :)

When you consider potential, Mcgugan is one of the few players who has the ability to become a Prem superstar. I'm not saying that's going to happen, I just think it's possible.
For that reason alone I'd never sell him for under 3 mill.
