How will the credit crunch effect Forest?

Back in 2007 our Nige was worth 170 mill.

This reduced to 150 mill in 2008.

Any thoughts on what Nigels estimated wealth will be in the new Sunday Times Rich List?

& What potential consequences could this have for Forest next season?

Good or bad news I imagine a consequence will be you for blaming him for anything not already blamed on Paul Smith. :p

I personally would imagine Nigel will continue to back us admirably, and sensibly, despite his own personal fortune being damaged by the credit crunch and also despite a contingent of ungrateful troublemaking fans.

Depends how long the recession lasts and how hard hit he is.

We owe Doughty a large sum. What's to say he won't recall that if things continue as they are.

I'd imagine that if Doughty did hit hard times he wouldn't leave it so late that he needed his 'forest loan' back to make ends meat. I'd have thought if things got really tight he'd put the club up for sale, as he knew he could no longer put his yearly millions in. Then any money outstanding on the loan the club owes him after a sale would still be negotiated on terms that suited the club. If they weren't he wouldn't see it back anyway, as few would want to take on Forest unless the £30 debt was structured very favourably.

not sure how it will affect forest but I suppose it depends on how well forest have done this season in terms of profit and loss ect.

Im hoping season tickets wont rise in price for those that are not renewing as I couldnt afford one last year due to having a crap job lol, but I am in a better possition now and I am hoping to buy one this year although a rise wouldnt really stop me but it would leave a bitter taste in my mouth if I end up paying £600 for A block season ticket

He's estimated to be a further £31m down at £119m, although he's actually moved up the rich list so is doing comparatively better! We lost over £6m last season, can easily see that being £10m this season, but he's still got ample wealth, just depends how much more he wants to put in.

He is not that bad off, and I'm sure that he would still keep bankrolling Forest.

His net 'wealth' is more down to the value of the stake he holds (principally in Doughty-Hanson) in various business; bear in mind he has in effect loaned Forest money, so he would only want that back if he were on his uppers! (which I hope is a day that will never come!)

Not much to be honest, I think most of this devaluation in his wealth is from property etc not just his bank balance rolling down. :)

i am not sure how they do these list where does all the info come from, as they know what the poeple have earned but not what they have spent and then alot of it is speculation.

anyone know?

I suspect Nigel is at home right now, wiping his tears away with his silk handkerchief, before they reach his armani pyjamas, whilst lying in his four poster bed, in his country manner, just wondering how on Earth he is going to make the upcoming payments for his four sportscars, or how he will put food on the table for his thoroughbread horse.

In short, if he's broke, I'd love to be broke too...
