Just wondering if this winless streak continues, and you get nothing from Reading, Preston, Burnley and Swansea, would you consider ditching Billy in a desperate bid to stay up ? Or is he the long term answer , league one or not ?

Regardless of what we think, he'l be here next season.

As it happens I think the very idea of even considering sacking him right now is just plain stupidity :)

I'm waiting for your bubble to burst, sick & tired fo you lot keep coming on to our forum.

The chairman has longer patience than Billy does. Therefore, Billy has as many games left as he wants.

While Derby isn't my first language, I think that's jumping the gun there a bit. The guy does make a point. I'm sure if one of us lot posted a similar question (and I'm sure we have), that response would never be made!

Then visit rams.co.uk and see for yourself how they talk to Forest fans.

Well that's that then, lets all stoop to a lower level because a forum elsewhere on the internet isn't very nice to people!

Ha ha. What a ridiculous thread! :D

Derby made the mistake of sacking him too early, I hope we at least give him until next season.

I have no intention of ever visiting a Derby website!

If someone posts a decent question, I'll answer it regardless of the club the poster supports.

For the rcord, i think Billy is here to Christmas at least. If we're bottom of Div 1, at that point, he'll go.

You can't go on sacking managers, if we can stay up that will be great and then we can build for next season in the summer.

If the worse was to happen "Jesus god noooo" then hopefully he will stick with us and gets us back up ASAP.

Some interesting responses and thanks for getting back. I really don't want Forest to go down...Nottingham Forest has far too rich a history to be languishing in England's third tier. It would be in my opinion bad for English football and East midlands football. So i hope forest stay up , but not sure if Billy is the man ...time will tell. The Preston game will be the barometer i think.

Past experience will show that Doughty won't sack him until well into next season (at the very earliest). Megson inherited a crock of shit, cleaned out the dead wood and replaced it with his own (yeah thanks for Darryl Powell, nice one) and left when he was on his way to taking us to league 2 (although he did buy players in January).

If BD leaves early it will be because he wants to not because he's pushed.

I think that BD will stay until the end of the season at the very least.

IMO we have the credentials to stay in this league - if we don't then I think that everything the club has ever achieved will go to pot.

But lets not speak about going down.. shall we? :nowink:

Good input man. We'll have to see how you guys get on with Clough for the rest of the season. I suppose now you're feeling like we did back at the beginning of January.

All rivalries aside, if Clough succeeds, I'll be happy to see the legacy of the east midlands live on for the next 20 years.

I said when he was appointed that he would be around for a long-long time, I still believe this. But this last couple of weeks he has shown that he is a very volatile individual, he could walk at any time!

He has a proven track record at this level. Still think next season (if he rides this storm) could be very different, but that said the football will be very ugly!

This winless period wont continue IMO. I dont expect him to do as well as CC cos we're in a higher division but something approaching that would be nice - play offs in his first season and automatic promo in his second.

All this talk of BD going will be put aside and forgot about when we have a couple of new signings in, and i really believe we will see new faces in a couple of weeks, and we will soon be winning a few again and stay up.

I agree and think we'll have Billy for at least the next couple of seasons.
