Hotel deal for Peterborough game next weekend

The Football Supporters' Federation have teamed up with Butterfly Hotels to offer a great deal to any Forest fans heading to the game with Peterborough on 3rd October. We know it's only a short distance, but some of you might be coming from further afield.

For £30 per person, they're offering your overnight accommodation, as well as throwing in a full English breakfast in the morning and a free pint on arrival. You can't say fairer than that, surely?

Visit http://butterflyhotels.co.uk/Our_Hotels/Peterborough/football.php for full details.

I've just emailed the Peterborough Hotel about my reservation and asked when we can check in from - thinking they might do early check in's for fans on this deal.

The answer - 2pm. lol

Looks like I'll be checking in post-pub at 2am then!

They also haven't answered my question about how the Taxi scheme works (are they pre-booked or can we just grab one and claim it back?) or whther I can get my 'free pint on arrival' before actually checking in (I'm not hanging round till 2pm for it!)

Might be worth e-mailing them back to ask if they have a secure room that you can leave your stuff in? Then you can leave it there and check in after the match...

..that's what me and Lucy were going to do before the Derby game, but when we got to the hotel they said our room was ready anyways.

Yes, I'll see what they reply to my last email. Not a major problem hopefully as they have a car park to stick stuff in the car.

It's not like I've not checked into a hotel drunk before! lol

Latest update; They seem a bit in the dark but bless them, at least they're replying and trying:

Hi Martin,

I have just spoke to my duty manager regarding this and he is a bit unsure how it works. He is getting a brief tomorrow, so would it be possible for us to reply tomorrow with your answer?

Best Regards

No problem. I rang up and booked the room on the back of the offer here: http://butterflyhotels.co.uk/Our_Hotels/Peterborough/football.php

Which states:

You buy the ticket and we will do the rest.
Here at the Ramada Peterborough we are offering football fans a superb deal when you are travelling to see your team play Peterborough United, why not stay the night with us and travel home in the morning.
For just £30.00 per person we are offering

* 1 Free Pint of Draught Lager, Beer or Soft Drink
* Overnight Accommodation, based on 2 people sharing a room
* Full English Breakfast
* Taxi to the Football Ground

To book this fantastic offer, please call 01733 564240 and quote Ref: 0910Footweb

So I was just wondering if the taxi's were pre-booked for a certain time? Or can we go at any time?

Thanks Martin

I'll update this tomorrow with the response, once it's a bit clearer. Ideally, I'd like to turn up around midday, leave the stuff, guzzle the pint then hop in the cab to meet you 'orrible lot. :)

Some hotels will allow an early check-in if the rooms are available e.g. no-one stayed in them the night before. You just put this through as a special request at the time of booking and they will try their best to honour it.

Sorry for not getting back on this sooner - I'd received a PM on Tuesday but was out of the country Mon-Weds, only got back to the office today and have been ploughing through emails and stuff all day. I'll get in touch with the hotel with the contact we have and see if they can inform their staff a little better about these deals that they've arranged with us! Obviously a bit of a case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand's doing.

I appreciate it's getting a bit late in the day for this game, but we figured that given that they'd gone to the trouble of setting up a dedicated web page that they'd bothered to inform their staff.

May need to take advantage of this at the last minute.

My big reunion has fallen through on Saturday night so just waiting to hear if us girls are going out without the boys.

If not then I shall be staying out in Peterborough properly after the game and might as well make a night of it!

Should know more in the morning.

Update:

Not 100% yet but it's looking like I'm heading back to London after all...for wine, nibbles and wingwoman antics! :D

You'll have to make the most of my presence before, and briefly after, the game then

If you can provide wine, nibbles, girlie gossip, bitching about men and wingwoman antics then I may reconsider... lol

The only email I've had back since from them said 'As far as we're aware, we order the taxis when you want them.'

Couldn't be bothered replying any further - all i really wanted to know was 'Am I ok to turn up at midday, dump my stuff neck my pint and jump in a cab (which would be prepaid? - or do I claim it back.)'

Figured I'd print off the web page and plonk it down when I went to sign in!

The Brewery Tap can provide wine, Mrs_Congo can moan about me, Football Talk > Girlie Gossip...so all that's lacking is the wingwoman...
