Seriously though, I don't think it's such a big thing as it was. Certainly not something to glamourise ! As long as it doesn't affect my family, me or my beloved Forest they can do what they want !

I'm sure you get a small number of casuals or whatever who like to have a scrap on matchday.

I guess they prefer to keep themselves to themselves but you still see a bit of it here and there. It's not only when we play clubs with a 'reputation' but it does tend to be more apparent on those days.

Obviously nothing like it was in years gone by, but I don't think that kind of thing die out just yet.

There's definately some but how many depends on your definition of what one is. A lot of people have referred to the person who threw the coin at Cardiff as a hooligan but the only difference between them and those who threw stuff at Commons was he was more accurate. You wouldn't expect people who do that to be the kind to be in a 50 man pub brawl though.

Showing some faith there, there's no guarantee it ever will.

Hooligans are beyond contempt in my opinion.

I watched Green Street last night as it happens and I was cringing all the way through. Ok, this was partialy because it's shite, but also just because of hooliganism in general.

I don't think it's possible for them to make a good film about football hooligans because when they're sat in their pubs foaming at the mouth about the 'naughtiest' people in their gang and about how they 'hate' one another it's so childish and moronic it's laughable.

Do I 'hate' Derby? Well, in the strictly football sense then I imagine I've said I do several times. But do I physically hate them, and wish harm on them or wish to fight with any of their supporters? Of course I bloody don't. I don't particularly like fighting with anyone, pain isn't much fun.

i think there is a few there is gona be, there is definately people i see (mainly youngsters) who model themselves on the football factory but they could be all talk. i wouldn't go looking for a fight at football for me that is what a true hooligan is but if i had been punched by any of the barnsley fans who ran over the walkway at the station chanting scabs until you die and felt i must return the favour in defence i would of been seen as a hooligan by a passer buy. i was only casually buying a drink and being stopped getting back onto our platform by police who had no idea and had decided i must be barnsley.

there will always be people who idolise the hooligan image but im not sure meets are organised like previous times

This is a good point. There's a lot of people on here say they 'hate' Kris Commons but it's pretty obvious its just a word that gets used too much.

Getting verbal abuse off rival fans is something that most people I know see as an accepted part of the game. Being physically attacked because of who we support really isn't.

I dont want to get on the wrong side of anyone here,
But, when England play abroad is it just the hooligans who go to the games or does the ordinary fans go?

The media show the hooligans and nobody else.

What, the fans in England shirts inside the ground? Pretty sure they're not all hooligans...

do the hooligams go to the game though i doubt it tbh

i no some people who travel with england home and away they have the highest membership you can get with england i think giving them tickets to all the games and they could never be hooligans

England like every other country would have decent well behaved fans but the media never show them, w**kers

Instead they show the thugs and that sets a bad example of your team and supporters.

The media do make out its only hooligans that travel abroad though!
and if there ever is any trouble they always say it is Englands fault.
which half the time it probably isnt!
