I honestly don’t know why they don’t just make it a direct debit type thing, the whole memberships schemes. Every other business relies on it. Unless you are lucky most people have e to think / worry about an outlay of £50 - £100 x however many people are in your family. If it was just a monthly payment you wouldn’t even think about it.

If I had to pay £150 for Netflix I wouldn’t bother. But £10 a month I don’t even think about it.

This is exactly how my Mitglied works for my local side in Stuttgart - it’s done by recurring debit that just rolls over every season to renew your membership and that’s it.

An absolute no-brainer, and I can never understand why Forest seem to want to complicate this by insisting that „members“ reconfirm their status every season?

Just do it the other way, make the assumption that if you join, you want to stay, and then just roll it over each season.

I worked on the premise last season that Priority One Members ( of which I’m one ) needed to attend 16 games to be guaranteed renewal.
Wasn’t a problem - but I was clearly misinformed

If you want to retain your Priority One status I think it might be worth a call to Forest to make sure.

As I said-tier 2 was definitely 3 Premier League away games last season and it is this season too.

I renewed mine and my daughter’s membership. Wanted to get one for my nephew, the bottom one, but you can’t buy new until 15th. I didn’t think there was a limit on the bottom one. So not sure why they aren’t just on sale.

It is for cash flow reasons, clubs need money up front in the summer to either fund transfers or just cover the costs of having no income as that is when clubs bleed money.

As an example, the reason season tickets have renewal deadlines in the latter months of a season isn't due to organization, it's because the last few months is when clubs run out of cash (see Sheff Wednesday & Hull) before prize money payments come in in June. That is why no club offer DD options themselves for season tickets as for clubs that actually have spare seats it would make sense to offer a subscription model to sell more tickets but there is a reason nobody does it as they mainly need the money over the summer months. If they offered DD more people would take that option (I would) & they would just lose a big chunk of cash when they actually need it.

But to get 3 tickets you need a ballot membership. I tried every single season ticket ballot last year and didn't get one ticket, so getting three would be impossible.

Not quite. A certain amount of away memberships (800 I think?) were reserved for people who'd been to most of the away games the season we got promoted, but the majority were sold on a first come first served basis.

Supply and demand has changed because so many jumped on the band wagon when we got promoted not because the ticket prices are capped. Seen plenty moan they couldn’t get away tickets yet didnt 2 or 3 away games make general sale last season?

I reckon the likelihood is, if you only attend 3 this season, you'll be able to renew your membership but will be in a new/worse category next season - it sounds like they're reviewing the whole system next summer:

All supporters opted into the Away Ticket Scheme must purchase for a minimum of three Premier League away fixtures to be eligible to opt into the Away Ticket Scheme again for 2026/27.

There will be full consultation with the Fan Advisory Board and wider supporter groups regarding the Away Ticket Scheme prior to the 2026/27 season.

I take that as them making some big changes. 400 club could be gone (or extended/reduced), new tiers based on attendance in previous years, plus 25/26, new rules for Europe if we're there again (based on whatever they learn this season), and so on.

Considering Priority One renewal criteria was (if memory serves) 14 games, there's no way they let you back in at the same or equivalent level if you drop that down to 3. Technically you'll still be 'in' the snappily named Away Ticket Scheme, but you might be relying on ballots.

I may be a bit of an old sceptic on this topic, but I’m struggling to see what the Fan Advisory Board has done (ever) that’s benefitted anyone?

It was proposed as something new and innovative, but for the paying matchday punter there appears to be no benefit at all?

Wasnt it proposed by the PL to prevent the Independent Regulator, but in orwctice is just lip service for the PL?

I believe having fan consultation - a fan advisory board - is considered best practice by the PL. I don't think it's compulsory.

A business listening to it's customers makes a lot of sense.

My issue is it's composition and accountability.

The old supporters clubs - were/are very democratic. (At least the London one is) . Elected committees. Policies. Votes. Accounts . Impressive organisation. But they , like the others had no real relationship with the club and got themselves into a pickle with ticket allocation. They now get very few away tickets and then they have to go to season ticket holders. Away members like myself are (rightly) ineligible

The FAB , in my opinion, is undemocratic. How you get to be on it. What the principle and policies are . Is a mystery. That said some of the discussion around international fans and disabilities is informed and well placed.

It does appear that the away scheme will be overhauled next season. The introduction of digital tickets should make policing - ensuring that only those entiitled to tickets get to use them - easier

Having one is compulsory.

Though how useful it is can vary. Some clubs do take it seriously, but at most (including us) it seems to be a box ticking exercise.
