there is a community day at ilkeston towns new manor ground on the 10th of oct 1pm to 6pm in aid of the supporters trust, there is craft and community stalls, boxing display,penalty shootouts and a match nottingham legends v ilkeston rovers utd.we are a supporters trust trying to revive our club.please come and lend your support to our cause thanks. visit our site www.ilsonfootball.co.uk again thanks for your support.
 
I thought this was going to be Notts with their begging bowls out again!

I saw about this on the news, never good to see a club go to the wall (unless its Cardiff), good luck getting things sorted.
 
The border is the River Erewash which is on the outskirts of Ilson. I was brought up at Ilkeston Junction and can vouch for there being more Reds

people like murder are narrow minded there is a group of young player that are still at ilkeston because kev wilson set up an academy that hopefully will be the future of the club when its eventually bought, 12 prospective buyers at last count.this is grass roots english football that is greatly needed,this comunity day is to raise funds to get this new club up and running.so it should not be about who follows who but helping the future of football in this county thanks
 
I spent many an afternoon on the old Manor Ground and played on the New Manor Ground long before Ilkeston Town so i was sorry to see the club fold. Having said that they haven't been particularly careful who they've allowed to run the club in recent years (one Mr Whyte springs to mind) but as hammerman says this is the grass roots and a club with the tradition of Ilkeston shouldn't be allowed to die.

Don't forget the great Bert Bowery started off at Ilkeston before leaving for Worksop and finally achieving glory with his 2 (yes TWO) starts at the City Ground.

I thought Long Eaton was in Nottinghamshire ... I could have sworn the D*rbyshire sign is after Long Eaton on the A52 ...
 
Nope. Some Long Eaton residents get a bit narked by the constant assumption that Long Eaton is in Notts. Doesn't help that the postcode and phone number are Nottinghamshire. And that the postal town is Nottingham.

What it would be to be a Derby fan there. lol lol
 
The Nottinghamshire postcode and number is beneficial to house prices :)
 
Good luck with this; its always a shame when clubs go to the wall so i hope you manage to sort something out. It is crazy though that the courts allow clubs like pompey with debts of over 100 million and debts to HMRC of near 10 million to carry on trading yet a club with 50,000 owed to HMRC has to cease. BONKERS!
