Help for Middlesbrough away

Hi all

Me and a few mates are defo getting a ticket for the Boro game on the 21st and we're also thinking of getting a mini bus so we can drive to the game and then go back to Newcastle afterwards for a good night out (would do in Boro but it's a shithole!).

Does anyone know of anywhere we could get a cheap mini bus for a 2 day hire instead of having to scrawl through numerous internet pages? Also, has anyone done this before? Is it a hassle getting from Boro to Newcastle.

Any help would be great.

Cheers

It depends where you are planning to sleep.

You could travel from boro up the A19 (dual carriageway, no roundabouts) for 20 minutes, turn left onto the A184 (dual carriageway but with a 50mph stretch) and park in the massive car park at Heworth Metro (small car park on left of A187, much bigger one on the right).

metro into toon, booze, metro back out to heworth and sleep in your truck.

metro into toon, booze, sleep in a hotel, metro back out to heworth and drive home.

or answer (d) none of these.

Couldnt help on the minibus front fella. But it aint that difficult getting to newcastle from boro. Only 45 minutes up the A19. Then follow the A184 (i think) through gateshead and over the tyne bridge into newcastle, then its down to you what you do from there.
Boro is shit on a saturday night, but theres always yarm aswell as newcastle which is a few miles away from boro, very smart little town, completely dickhead and chavfree and a cracking night out (although quite expensive). Theres a thread somewhere on here about it already , quite a few forest fans will be drinkin there before the game, and quite alot will be out down there on the night. If thats any help bud.

Good idea boro red (edit - oops, sorry!)

Certainly a good night in Yarm, loads of pubs and clubs all around the central wide street (was it once a market square?)

And you'd be travelling south after the game rather than driving further north.

I met palister in yarm once, nice bloke

yarm should be a definite for you. save newcastle for the newcastle game or any other time really. if you do go to newcastle you should pop in to "the gate" and go to the casino. i'll be there all night. ;D
