Reading the Lee Camp thread set me wondering if one of the reasons he was overlooked for an England call up was lack of height. I've also noticed that when the teams line up before kick off most of the teams we play are generally taller than ours. Against QPR it looked like we were facing the land of the giants. Maybe this is part of the reason we struggle away? Billy is often talking about the teams lack of physical presence. Add to this the high percentage of headers scored against us so far, and the fact that we are pretty inept from attacking corners, and I wonder if this is holding us back currently.
Thoughts?
 
Iker Casailias isn't very tall.

As much as I rate Camp I do think people need to lower their expectations a bit. He's not International quality.
 
Victor Valdes, Fabien Barthez, Hugo Lloris, Rene Higuata and Mark Bosnich; all international goalies and none of them were very "tall" in the traditional goalie-sense (like van der Sar, who is about 6'5" or something daft like that).

With modern goalkeeping, it is often about positional sense and reflexes.

Ask Iker Casillas, Spain's Number 1 and current World Cup winner, of course.
 
Raddi and Earnie are midgets. I don't think anyone else in the side is a raging short arse though.
 
Well they probably can't beat Lichenstein if Scotland couldn't, we worked out that they have a smaller pool of selection than that of West Bridgford.
 
we are a short side, the moose, maybe wilson are the only ones i can think of that are 6'1 plus and they aren't regulars in the team.

A couple of years ago when Wolves and Brum went up is was very apparent that their teams were primarily big, athletic and well organised. They were not great footballing sides but they got results.
Even from the bottom end of the table we out fatballed them but we didnt beat them.:(
