Heard on the radio that we've made a £1.5m bid for him. Wonder if Megson will do us a favour seeing as we treated him so well.
Interesting one.

Don't know what to think there at the moment.

As for Megson - He has alway spoken very highly of Nottingham Forest, ND and MA.

I'd quite like this. He'd be a very good player in the Championship for us and has scored goals at this level.

I don't think he's worth that much. Even wickpedia says he's always injured...

Good in the air though and cool at penno's. It would be nice to have someone at the FRONT who can head the ball without pushing 3 defenders up.

far to old and slow.

i think cc is running out of players to buy.

with whittingham signing new contract, anderson, leon best not interested in us etc.

hes turning his attention to reject bolton players.........and at 1.5 million!!!! :nowink:

I think that this would be a great signing.  We need an experienced target man who is good in the air.

He has proved himself at this level and was quite handy in the premiership when fit.

Also Earnshaw always works better when he has a big target man to play off.  At Norwich he had Dion Dublin and got 20 goals, then at Cardiff he had Leo Fortune-West.

Heidur could be just the man to get the best out of him and Tyson.

Helgusson is 5'10". Not exactly a 'big target man'. Although bigger than Earnie, so are 99% of football league players. His aerial ability does make him seem a lot bigger than he actually is.

This is also mentioned in The Sun today.

I don't really know that much about him.

His name is actually down as Heiðar on Wikipedia. That character used to be used in English, it comes from the thorn rune, and so not surprisingly is used for a "th" sound. "This" used to be written "ðis" for example. I believe this is where the business of "ye olde ..." came from, nobody ever said that, but ð got printed as 'y'.

There's a similar explanation for why Menzies (as in Menzies Campbell) is actually pronounced 'Mingis'.

Useless but interesting information - bit like this forum at the moment :p

I don't think that if we use a Norwegian font for his shirt that it will stop him getting injured OR reverse the ageing process. Unless he's free don't even contemplate this move.

If he can stay fit he could be a good player for Earnshaw or Tyson (or both!) to play off of, the price does seem a little steep for a regularly injured player who is over 30 though.
