Have we reached the point yet ...

... where we feel we've got our backs to the wall? There always seems to be a point come the end of the season, when there is actually something still to play for, when the fans seem to realise that the time for negativity is gone, and making a shed load of noise in support is the only course of action.

Of course, if/when we've actually f**ked it and we're as good as down, the fans move past this to self mockery.

Anyway, just wondering really if we're going to see a really big crowd on Saturday, with fans coming out of the wood work to support the team fighting the drop (much as they did when we were fighting for promotion). Its the business end of the season now, more drama, and possibly a cracking atmosphere this weekend?

Can the team live up to it and win us a point?

Miserable git, and proud.
Yeah we'll see a big crowd, seeing as Mark Arthur has decided to give Wolves 'T Block' in Clough Lower as well as the whole of the Bridgford Lower, it'll be an away cauldron as normal, do they ever learn?

I know you're referring to the fans with regards to this attitude and you're spot on, but I'm gonna be more interested to see if there is a change of attitude in the players to this sort of 'siege' mentality (or however you want to describe it).

I think a lot of us Trickies haven't got THAT much of a problem with being outclassed a technically superior team, but not to show fight and desire is simply unacceptable. Going on the comments from Saturday and what I saw with my own eyes against Watford, we just haven't looked like a team scrapping for our lives in the last 2 matches. That is not good enough and I've got no problem with Billy Davies telling the team that - singling out players as an extension of that is another debate.

The frustrating thing for many of us, is that we know we have enough quality to stay up. We've shown that with some very good performances/results against the better teams in this league.

I really want the players to come out with a 'backs to the wall attitude' on Sat as you mention. Maybe because we haven't been in the relegation zone for a while, the intensity has dropped slightly and although many will see this as clutching at straws, the players must realise that we need to 'outscore' (on points) a couple of teams now to stay up, instead of just trundling along and I think that will result in a better effort on Saturday and hopefully for the rest of the season.

I almost can't believe I'm writing that after our wins against Reading and Preston, but the last 2 matches have been deeply concerning.

Definitely mate, we can help bring it out in them if we show some spirit in the stands. As I say, I hope a lot of the fans who don't always manage to get down, fill out the ground for our last home games. We need near full houses, great atmospheres ... we need to let the players know who they're fighting for, and make them feel its worth it.

If only we could bring in McParland and Barlow for the remainder of the season and play like we did those last 10 games.

I think a lot of Notts fans would like that ATM.

Will Forest sell out of the home seats.........No

So Forest bring in a sackfull of cash by being able to move more tickets to Wolves who can sell some more seats.

Are Forest a business...Yes

I cannot see a problem.

Will it help forest as a business if we get relegated, because we lost to Wolves, because the only fans audible were the away fans and it gave wolves a boost and knocked forest.

Hello Happy Talk.

Forest have received overwhelming backing from a fantastic, Large, loyal, loud, enthusiastic, ripped off and totally peed off set of fans for years. It has made no difference what so ever in the past to the sides performances and doubt it will Saturday.

Wolves have, as all away fans get, the best acoustics in the ground in the Lower Bridgford. Seeing as they are going to enthusiastically fill that anyway, I really doubt the section of fans sat in the Lower Tier of the Clough stand will make any match changing noise.

It's simple really if you think about it before you post.

Thats just not true, think of Yeovil last year. Of course letting more Wolves fans in will change the atmosphere, that's glaringly obvious.
Maybe you should think before you post

Happy Talk,

my names Nigel, not dick. I cannot think where you got that from.

So the logic of supply and demand beats you does it ?. Forest are a business, the club will not be able to sell out all the seats for the home fans on Saturday, so Wolves who have a large following and are riding high, thus generating more intrest from their fans could deal with further ticket sales..........what does the club do....Raises more income from ticket sales of course.

If you honestly think Forests survival depends on the couple of hundred extra Wolves fans in the ground, then nothing I say will register upstairs.

Think of the more enthusiastic fans, the younger element and help them sing songs other than Stand Up If you hate Derby, or the humerus Get a proper job to the stewards, how is that helping the team. The atmosphere at Forest some days resembles a morgue. Before you blame that on supporters of my vintage. Let me remind you we rocked football grounds the length and breadth of the country and Europe in my day............It's just the batton has been allowed to fall and not been seized since the A Block was decimated by regulations.

Clear Richard ?

You misunderstood, I was just calling you a dick. And you spelt humourous wrong.

It could change the game if the Wolves fans outsing the forest fans (who won't be helped by old'uns like yourself). This will be more likely if we let more Wolves fans in.
Understand?

Oh so it was an insult................You little tinker you, growl grrr.

Of course the Wolves fans are going to outsing the Forest fans Saturday, large followings of away support always beats the home teams vocals given a chance. You have all the fans gathered in area ( That's behind the Bridgford goal if you have not noticed them there ), so the response of any singing is always magnified, because the whole away section have the chance to easily join in.

I'm 52 in May and like to think I am as enthusiastic as the next fan........had years of practise, but to still want to join in, all the time with the younger fans would be a bit sad really. When you grow up, maybe you will feel the same.

Oh stopped laughing at Dick now, my your original 8)

Yes.

We were good at football in those days though, which makes the team easier to sing for and shout about.

Our away support is ok but the home support is crap for the following reasons.

1) No under 21's in A block

2) Away fans are always seated miles away from any potential banter.

3) Can you start sitting down please lads?

4)shit football and nobhead players.

We enjoyed a fantatsic golden period, supporting Forest then was manna from heaven, BUT Nottingham Forest F.C have a long past before the arrival of BC. Forest, have always enjoyed good support, before Cloughie. We were pretty crap then at time's as well

god I miss my A block, A block is a shadow of what it was last time we where in the championship let alone what its was like 10-15years ago, I still get a funny feeling inside when I think of some of the games past when that ground has been rocking and I think its fair to say I start buzzing lol.

we are at the bussiness end of the season this is the time when I go balls out for tickets and spend my last penny on forest and try to get to all the games I can this is the point when I try and start every bloody song I can in A Block till the point I cant sing no more, and tbh over the last few years Ive noticed that the current bunch of players dont seem to react a little bit to any vocal support and rarely raise there game, golden example of that was the yeovil game in the play offs I and many others in A block sang our hearts out till the very end and i have never felt so empty as I did that game, yet its a shame the players didnt at least try and match our efforts.

I cant even think about relegation atm it just isnt even a option...... is it :(

I understand.

The larger Wolves contingent making a lot of noise could drown out the sounds of all the Forest fans moaning about Smith and/or Chambers.

Maybe we should give them a few thousand more tickets. For free.

I have a vague nightmare that as the Damned United is released, we go down again and Billy Davies becomes remembered like Cloughie was at Leeds.

The atmosphere in the stadium is just managed terribly.

Spot on observation. THe club is doing the best it can to kill the passion, to homogenise the fans. They're probably afraid of a "discrimination" case being lodged by away fans...

I thought we actually got a bit of this on Saturday. The fans were pretty good, lots of noise all through the game, and I thought the players had a good go as well, considering Wolves are top of the table, they didn't look much better than us.
