David Moyes is probably the favourite, or maybe young Darren Ferguson.

No chance of Moyes leaving a Premiership team for a country that is unlikely to qualify in the near future. I also doubt Davies would want to alienate himself from club football at this stage in his career.

They should stick with Burley, the manager isn't the problem, the squad is. There just isn't the players to qualify.

Can't see losing to Holland as being a catalyst for changing manager.

Did they even expect to qualify?

Could be Billy be off to manage the Scotland Team?

More likely to be Calderwood if a vacancy became available.

They'd have to pay a nice sum to get Billy if they did want him :p

Strachan would probably be the easiest bet if they were to get rid of Burley

Billy Davies is 8/1 joint-third favourite to become the next manager of his country

Defeat by Holland on Wednesday night ended the World Cup dreams of the Scots for another four years and the bookmakers have wasted no time in pricing up the successor to George Burley, despite his future not yet being decided.

Gordon Strachan is the clear favourite, with Davies and Graeme Souness sharing third-place in the betting.

Gordon Strachan ruled himself out - said he has plans to drive across/around the USA for 6 months - something he has apparently wanted to do for years. Random I know but thats what he said on 5live last week!!!

You can forget any established Scottish managers at Premiership sides. It's a huge step down for Moyes and I doubt very much Owen Coyle would be interested having turned down Celtic.

Let's not forget that pie-headed Alex McLeish quit Scotland's 'top job' for a role at small-timers Birmingham City.
