I have just pooed myself in excitement. Hope this happens.

This is going to be one helluva different team from last season. McKenna just seems to be the right kind of midfield steel we really needed.

We'll go up as runners-up, win the league next season and beat Wolfsburg in the final.

You been playing on football manager again ??

Wow.

I had expected a season-long loan, but to get the lad permanant, when Tottenham rate him as a definite future 1st teamer is a hell of a coup.

£2m will look like a bargain come the end of the season too. Fair play to the acquisitions committe for getting this done and credit where it's due, Marthur has obviously thrashed out a deal which suits the player and the club (for once...). Big credit to Doughty as well for putting his money where his mouth is.

Impressive stuff and I now have a new-found sense of optimism, which I haven't had since Paul Hart crushed it in his second season.

First Team Squad
Well chuffed with this if it comes off.

But why do we need 5 central midfielders? I guess Perch will be put into the defence squad if we have Cohen, McGugan, Moose, Mckenna and this polish lad.

Harrison

Jack Armstrong
I can understand Tottenham letting him go. With them targeting Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker.

Fantastic news! :) Certainly has brightend up my day ;D

Would be delighted if it happens. I had a feeling we'd actually splash out the big bucks to get Mills in, but Gunter would be great as well!

Paul Harts second season was the last time we were any good!

Actually no , we started the 2nd season by losing our first match and drawing 0-0 in our 2nd match , a lot of knee jerking fans was actually complaining , whining and wants Hart out back in the old OF.

So the season we made the play offs was a bad season?

Sorry, I meant second full season...after we'd sold of the crown jewels and replaced them with Gareth Taylor...

Indeed.

I've gone through a whole box of Kleenex already.

For £2m as well! It's so cheap there should be some money left to buy you a box of those posh ones that come with aloe vera.

That was his second full season!

He managed all of 2001/2002, 2002/2003 and was sacked in 2003/2004. He was sussed by that point though, a bit of investment in that last close season and the nightmare of the last 5 or 6 years might not have happened!
