Welsh defender open to further loan deal at Forest

Gunter: Helping Forest towards safety

Chris Gunter has admitted that he would welcome the opportunity to remain at Nottingham Forest next season.

The 19-year-old joined the Reds on loan from Tottenham in March in a deal which is set to run until the end of the current campaign.

He has played his part in helping Billy Davies' side climb out of the Championship relegation zone and close in on second tier safety.

The Wales international has enjoyed his time at the City Ground, as it has allowed him regular first-team football, and he has revealed that he would have no qualms with agreeing a similar deal next term.

"It's a fantastic club with brilliant people and it couldn't have gone any better," he said.

"I'm contracted to Spurs, but if they tell me to go for a season on loan then it's something to consider."

Meanwhile, Forest's survival bid has been handed a welcome boost with the news that a number of key men could return to the fold for Saturday's trip to Blackpool.

Boost
Robert Earnshaw and Iain Turner, who were both expected to miss the run-in, are back in contention, while Nathan Tyson, Guy Moussi, Paul Anderson and Joel Lynch are all looking to force their way into Davies' plans.

"We are boosted by the news that Earnie and Tys are both fully recovered for the weekend, which is good," the Reds boss told the club's official website.

"Iain Turner, with his toe, and Paul Anderson (ankle) are touch and go, but we are hopeful.

"It will be nice to have one or two back.

"Guy played more than a half in the reserves on Monday and Joel Lynch is back in training as well.

"We will have to see who is available, but we should have one or two more available."

Well then say to BD yourself that you want him at the club next season, no point coming in here and saying it. Although I've heard rumours that ND and MA pop up in here.

I would be very pleased to see him back next season.

Also good news on most of our injuries returning

Would be a top signing for the whole of next season. Must be in the top couple of right backs in the division.

Well, he seems to have come into his own recently and if he were to stay next season, I think he'd be fantastic.
