Gunter interview on forest world

Sounds like he's loving it here.

Praises the players, the manager, the fans, the area. Genuinely seems passionate about the club.

Seems like a nice lad, and he went a lot further than I thought he would on coming back next season. Hopefully 'onest 'arry will let him out on loan again.

You'd think the club would have given him some tickets for his family, rather than the poor lad queuing up in the ticket office! :)

Frankly, it stinks.

It says on the OS:

"Tickets are only available to supporters who already have a Forest client reference number and have purchased home tickets at some point this season. "

I doubt that applies to Mr Gunter.

 :D

he is with the others on the MUST SIGN LIST

Anderson
Blackstock
Gunter

one of the best right backs outside of the premiership.

He does come across as a genuinely decent lad and certainly more articulate than your average footballer.
I personally would love to see him come back next season. :)

Said he was 'proud to play for Nottingham Forest' =]

Put in some excellent performances for us, get him on loan for next season Billy!

Just behind Blackstock on my MUST SIGN list ... although its only likley to be on loan again, getting Gunter in for next term would make me very happy indeed.

Nick.

Once known as Nick.Doyle.nffc on 'ere.
Seems a nice guy.
I remeber seeing a interview ages ago, he called us Notts Forest :D...

Probably wouldn't get him to sign yet, probably on loan again. Then next year he might

Blackstock is a must, so it Rob Jones and Lynch!

I've spoken to Paul about next season and I wouldn't expect him to be here. He's said he's going to make a go of it back at Liverpool.

To be fair to the lad he has said that from the start and you can't really blame him ! But as long as he realises that there is a pair of outstretched arms here for him, best of luck to the lad. One Liverpool player I won't despise !

I doubt their manager would agree. It'll take him at least a season or so before he can become a regular first teamer. Liverpool are so close to the title too, I'm sure Benny would be looking for more top flight experience.

Although to be fair, there really is no space for Anderson at Liverpool. Largely on the grounds that he is a) British and b) not a player they've spent huge amounts of money on.

Paul is a fantastic player and frankly he's being wasted at a club like that. Sooner or later he'll have to make the decision all Liverpool back-up players do. Stay on higher wage and live out as many years as you can before they release you or find another club.

If he took the latter I doubt any Forest fand would not welcome him here. He has been nothing shoert of brilliant here this year.

Spot on ! If anyone he needs to speak to Chris Cohen. A player with a very bright future at Wet Sham, but couldn't reslly break in. A few years dropping down the divisions and he's back on the up. No doubt will be a regular Premiership player within a year or 2 ! Then again there are so many. Alan Shearer is probably the best example !

Exactly, there's 2 types of Footballers:

1) For the badge - No first team football, but at a prestigious club who pay a cushty wage. Goes to training in hope that one day he'll get on the subs bench, someday even a start.

2) For the sport - Constant first team football, wage above average but at a club not regarded as being prestigious.

I hope Ando is the latter, a youngster who has a career with a team who are rising through the ranks.

If I'm not mistaken, Cohen was only 16 when he first played for West Ham, which is a great achievement in itself. I think I'm right in saying that he was only let go because of the poor financial situation at West Ham and not because he couldn't break in. He had already achieved that, and from experience, anyone who breaks through at the age 16 is pretty special. I get the point you are making though.

Back on the Gunter topic, I think if we can loan him for the whole of next season and achieve promotion or a top 6 finish he would seriously consider joining us on a permanent deal. Looking at the full backs at Spurs, it is going to be pretty tough for him to displace Hutton, Corluka and Chimbonda. The same goes for Anderson. If players like Pennant are deemed surplus to requirements and shipped out, what chance does he have?

If we were in the Premiership I'd say we would have a very good chance of signing a player like Pennant, I'm sure Forest would be a pretty good prospect for players wanting to join. We are a BIG club with a large fan base, good facilities and a large stadium. All the makings of a Premiership club :)

Just watched the interview and was really impressed. He clearly loves being here, said himself how he is surprised how emotionally attached he has become! I think it's just a case of negotiating with Spurs for another season-long loan!!

Speaks really well and the passion he has for the game, and our club, is unquestionable!

Having a proper right back has helped immensely, it's obvious Chambers was never comfortable out there. Shoving him and Wilson out there damaged us throughout the season, we always looked unbalanced and weak.

Liverpool may decide to keep Ando because of the new laws that might be coming in on home grown players.
