Destroy!
Yeah that's the question - no doubting his experience or ability to break things up.Betis' old DOF is the guy who left for Olympiacos so I'm in two minds about these links, on the one hand he could be going back for players he knows but on the other hand it's an easy "believable" story to write for those fan led websites. But if it is true you'd expect him to know what acceptable figures for those players are considering he still worked there a few months back
Rodriguez is a proper number 6 but I'm a bit iffy as to whether he'd cut it in the Prem with the pace of things.
If it doesn't work for whatever reason, we've apparently offered to almost quadruple his wages to come.
Very highly rated. But of course it has a twist, the Saudis are in for Atletico's Rodrigo De Paul, if they lose him Simeone wants to replace him with.....Guido Rodriguez.
If Simeone has identified him as a player he wants in a defensive midfield role then I'm thinking he must be better than decent and a nasty bastard to boot.Very highly rated. I think Danilo fits the progressive CDM role if we get this guy in as well. Will also add that there's so big a difference between this guy and the types we've been after that we are either changing tack in terms of what we need or are looking to bring this guy in as well as a more progressive CDM. I'm guessing it's the latter: closer out of games.
Could it be a case of not quite getting the one we needed that had it all and instead opting for Rodriguez as a destroyer and Dominguez as a ball player? Could add a fair amount of balance to either play in a 3 with one of the others likely Yates or like second half against sheff utd as two more natural DMs. Allows Danilo to slip back into a more advanced role especially away from home. Will also add that there's so big a difference between this guy and the types we've been after that we are either changing tack in terms of what we need or are looking to bring this guy in as well as a more progressive CDM. Also a midfield of Rodriguez and Dominguez sounds fantastic. Almost like a Dream Team / Ted Lasso made up team
Provided he remembers that the goal is to progress the ball up the field and not backwards (this presupposes those up front are presenting themselves).I think Danilo fits the progressive CDM role if we get this guy in as well.
