Ground Share

So, with the city's World Cup bid, Forest looking to expand/move grounds and County's new found financial clout is now finally the time to resurrect the shared 'super stadium' plan?

Personally i would have very mixed feelings on this but reckon its now a very real possibility, in fact im almost certain it will happen if the England/Nottingham WC bids are succesful. It just makes sense.

Would you guys be in favour of this??

I would be surprised if it isn't mooted.

Since I don't want to move to our own new ground, the idea of a ground share just takes that already abhorrent idea and makes it completely shit.

Hasn't he just mooted it in the first post?

Seeing that we already know that Notts County are capable of reneging on ground sharing deals this should be considered a non starter by Forest.

Ah. Well in that case I agree. In fact I suspect someone at the EP will be copying and pasting this very thread and passing it off as 'journalism' before lunchtime on Monday.

My usual diatribe about new posters starting threads begins here.

Who are you?

What team do you support?

Have you ever watched Forest play?

This is a community of Forest fans, who do you know in this community?

What was your experience of the main stand fire in 1968?

Have you slept with Liz? I don't mean had sex with her as that would be impossible, I mean share a bed and held hands and watched the dawn.

Malmo or Hamburg?

Who are you guys? I, for one, am a girl. I'm fairly certain that Sedge is too. He just needs to come around to realising it.

Male, 26, Forest fan, season ticket holder for 10 years, away member.

Dont think i know anyone in this community, although with all the random usernames its kind of like one of those adult parties you go to where everyone wears masks - you might actually know people but you dont realise it. And sometimes its best that way...

I had to leave 1st Bottesford Brownies when I was 14, that has had a negative impact on all my life. Never enjoyed Scouts apart from playing with Woggles

County don't (currently) have enough fans to make this viable.

I don't like the idea of 25k Forest fans in a 40-50k stadium. 5k County fans in a stadium that size would be a joke.

When I heard the attendance today, I had a quick look through their attendance figures for last season - they were around 4-5k. This isn't meant as an insult, just reality.

I wish County all the best in their mission to go through the leagues and this isn't meant in a patrionising way at all. The history of both clubs have led them to their respective fan-base levels. That's just the way it is.

I'm sure many County fans will see this (if they were on this forum) as a condescending post, but I bet the majority of Forest fans along with me have a list of at least 5 clubs that we would rather see fail than County. Again, that's just the way it is.

Any Notts fan with a brain wouldn't see it as a condescending post. It is spot on. While we averaged 4,500 last season I think we were pretty much rock bottom. I think we have lost a lot of fans in the past decade. The first objective is to win them back. I think we will average 5,500 to 6,000 in the coming season if we are challenging for promotion.

I think both teams have fans that need winning back.

I view Notts County like the little smelly, bogie picking, bum scratching brother I never had, an irritation and someone I would happily throw my hairbrush at.

However, there is a respect there and I would still defend them in any other fight outside of Nottingham.

As for sharing a stadium....it'd be like sharing a bedroom, most definitely not and never ever ever. :girlred:

english clubs should never share grounds, yes it works in europe but so does women not shaving there pits, and bread and jam for breakfasts.

the city ground is the heart beat of nottingham forest as is meadow lane for county, if NCC want a new super stadium for the bloody world cup go find some other mugs to rent it to after the world cup is finnished.

Good point. Got me thinking aswell, if we did share a stadium what colour would it be? Red for us or black and white for the morons?

Seriously though I can't see it happening, Countys board will want to set them apart from us as a 'bigger and better' team ( :nowink: ). Ground sharing for me wouldn't fit that bill - what might suit them is an MK Dons style switch out of Nottingham completely .... I can't find the source but I'm sure I read one of their new directors was involved in the setting up the franchise
