We are in for him. Trying to do a deal with the Saints for him and McGoldrick, around £1 million. Talks have begun

£1mill for both? That's not bad. Also sorts out his 6 strikers for next season

Earnshaw (rapid as f**k/ "fox in the box")
Rasziak (Target man)
McGoldrick (can be played as a winger/ all round striker)
Tyson (can be played as a winger/ rapid as f**k)
Garner (all round stiker)
Blackstock (Target man)

Not bad indeed :)

Well, Davies said he wants five or six strikers.

Earnshaw - Don't think we need to really justify Earnshaw's place. Scores goals no matter how fit he is and will be very important next season.
Blackstock - Can act as a link player like McGoldrick or a target man like Raziak. 6' 2" and very strong. Decent in front of goal, too. 166 games, 43 goals. Is better than that record suggests!
Tyson - Very quick, as we all know. Can play up top or on the wing. Might not have the best record in front of goal but offers so much more.
Garner - Similar to Earnshaw in that he's relatively small, but is strong for his size. 5' 10", age 21. 14 in 31 for Carlisle and 8 in 19 starts for us.
Rasziak - Target man: 6' 3" tall age 30. 24 in 62 games for Southampton and 8 in 21 for Watford. Better than 1 in 3.
McGoldrick - Link player, a bit like Blackstock. 6' 1", age 21. 16 goals in 49 games for Southampton. About 1 in 3.

He's already said that he plans to bid for all seven loanees from last season, so that means he wants Anderson and Gunter back and obviously that includes Blackstock.

I'd still be very happy with that strike force.

i can't see the point in having 6 strikers , five at a push i reckon to cover injuries etc but strikers need match sharpness to be at their most effective and if the front -line is constantly changing i can't see how they are going to be at their best , personally i'm much keener on getting blackstock & maybe mcgoldrick but not too bothered about rasiak as blackstock fills the target man criteria.

I agree with you. I also think Raziak would be a decent addition, though.

I reckon Tyson may be used more as a winger next season for some reason. No idea why I think it, though.

All being well, I think Big Bad Billy wants his side to look a bit like this:

Camp

Gunter Morgan Jones Lynch/Bennett

Anderson Cohen McGugan Tyson

Earnshaw Blackstock

Subs from: Smith, Perch, Moussi, Osbourne (maybe), Lynch/Bennett, Chambers, Wilson, McCleary, Garner, McGoldrick, Raziak

I also think that he wants options of different sides depending on who we play so he can have one up top, like Raziak who can be supported by the attacking midfielders and then when we really want to go for it, to have three up there and three in midfield.

I take it then that unless someone leaves it knocks the Ched Evans rumours on the head?

McSheffery on the left i'd think, Tyson might become a squad player, used in certain situations.

That strike force looks impressive though!

Sadly I think Tyson will be allowed to fade into the background, moving on sooner rather than later.

Id take Rasziak, but only After Blackstock and Mcsheff.. 500k still seems alot. I think hes worth half that.

500k isn't a bad price for Grzegorz Rasiak in my opinion. Bags of experience and would add another dimension to our attack. I do agree however that I will only be happy about signing him as long as we get Blackstock and McSheffrey as well.

I don't know about Tyson yet.

If he can get himself fit and have a full pre-season, then it'll be interesting to see what part he has to play next year.

Davies got him signed up to a new contract for a reason.

Davies likes Tyson so i doubt he'll let him go.

Right before Tyson got injured , he was a regular under Davies and out of the 2 strikers between earnie & tyson , earnie always gets substituted while tyson gets the entire 90 minutes run out.

I'm unconvinced Earnshaw and Tyson will ever spend a season fit without some decent length layoff. Might not matter so much with Earnie but Tyson success is dependant on fitness, confidence and who else is available. He probably counts for two thirds of a good striker. Until Garner's consistency and temper are stabilised, I'd not quantify him as much more, either. So that's somehting over two full striker's worth we've got on the books now, guaranteed. All the juniors are off, I'd say three including Blackstock makes five. Tidy. We've got three competitions to play in next season.

We'll be needing the ability and talent for the beautiful games and the reinforcements for the games after the ugly ones where the cards and injuries flow freely. Next Championship will have plenty of both types, looking at the potential 24.
