Cloughie1975

Fully agree Alf-Cloughie was a man of the people (a bit like Bill Shankly).I was showing the missus some Cloughie clips this morning and explaining to her that what made Clough so great for me, and why I admired him as almost a father like figure, was the fact that he was so down to earth and so grounded.
That's why I posted that video of him with those girl guides quotes because can you imagine some of these modern managers like talking about the British girl guides? lol. There's something so comforting and so grounding and so traditional about that and Cloughie was that the embodiment of that.
There he was mixing it with the best and with people like Muhammad Ali talking about him and yet here he is talking about girl guides thinking day, which is just as local and as down to earth as you can get. What a man, and that's why I think there'll never be anybody but like him because all the all today's managers are not only robots but they're caught up in that cycle of bigger cars, bigger houses, flashier lifestyles, it's all bull.
Cooper had very similar qualities, and thus it's why he's one of the rare exceptions who comes close for me.
