According to the sky sports news ticker he is out for up to 4months with a dislocatored shoulder. Ive checked the os and here and havent found out if it's true so has any andy else heard this, as it's not like sky sports news would lie.

Hopefully now, garner will stay and be used as more frequently as a striker.

I assumed he'd been out injured since we signed him seeing as i've never actually seen him pass a ball or shoot straight.

How the hell has he dislocated his shoulder when we haven't even played a pre-season game yet?

Presumable he ran into a goalpost or something, as he clearly has no idea where they are.

I've been critical of Goldie but I think he may be a bit of a Kevin Campbell, pretty disappointing at first later becoming good.

Bit disappointing, not really sure how much of a chance he has been given, I think that he could (may still) have come good this season, would certainly rather see him given a chance ahead of Tyson.

We do like to pounce on a footballer here if he doesn't have instant success. It's the wilson situation all over again. He deserves at least another season, there is talent in his boots. As for this infatuation some people have with garner, I just dont see it, if nothing else he makes rooney look calm and level headed

Agree here. Garner seems to have almost cult status already, based on 2 goals. I think he'd be a good championship striker, but not the second coming of Jesus that some people make him out to be. He's had issues with his anger, and he's still the 3rd best striker in our squad, hence why he's not starting.

Garner might be a bit of a hard nut up top but so what, he isn't that dirty he just upsets the opponents defence. I think he has the quality to be a great player if only we gave him the chance.

Goldie could be good but at the moment isn't.

I know goldie personally very well and grew up in the same school and neighborhood.... i can assure you the boy is a quality player. i think he hasnt been given a decent run of games under billy due to the rotation system and he is a player who needs games. its no coincidence that before he came here hes always done well no matter where he has played after having a run in the team. when he was at southampton the season before he came here he did very well against us and the few times we saw him on sky im sure most of you would find it hard to say he didnt perform. if you know dave you know he isnt a lone striker kind of guy he plays in the hole similar to raddy hence his lack of opportunity and often bein played out of position. in terms of garner i know this might put a few noses out of joint but i feel goldie has much more talent and potential than garner and the two or three strikers id sell ahead of him would be garner adebola and tyson as i simply dont think they can cut it at a promtion chasing team.

The Morgan scape goating was mostly down to the mistake against Yeovil, for me he's the best centre back of his type in the league and the best we have had for a long long time.

I think people want Garner to have more chances to come on off the bench and prove himself. McGoaldrought seemed to get no end of those, and he didn't score. If we're rotating strikers, why not rotate Garner in there, and give him chance to do better from the bench? That'd be more like competition, which everyone agrees is a good thing.

You know he was here for another season before this one, where he scored more goals....right? :p

Garner doesnt have cult status, people just recognise that he has a ton of talent, but also plays with a ton of passion.

Hes scored some brilliant goals, but doesnt get a look in at forest. Hes played half as many games as mcgoldrick this season, and many of those in midfield- but scored only 1 goal less.

Garners record stands at 9 goals in 46 games (over 2 seasons), with many of them being as a midfielder.

Mcgoldricks record stands at a pitiful 3 goals in 33 appearances (1 season), almost exclusively employed as a striker (bar that one good half he had at RM).

Mcgoldrick is a very good player, who just needs abit of time to find his feet, and also for people to lay off him.

But he isnt a goal scorer like garner is- which is what you want from a striker. Particuarly in a side like ours which struggled to score goals.

Mcgoldrick seems to suit being a midfielder, as whenever he comes on- he drops so deep, and arguably his best performance in forest shirt came when he was employed in midfield.

Im sure this season, once he returns to fitness- he'll be much better :)
