Glick: Rams happy to help FA

Derby CEO says Club want 'fair and just' outcome to Forest issue

Derby County CEO and President Tom Glick says he has every confidence that the FA will conduct a full, fair and just enquiry into the post-match scenes at the City Ground, following Nottingham Forest's 3-2 win over the weekend.

The Football Association have said they will investigate 'as a matter of urgency' incidents that followed the full-time whistle.

Tom Glick says the Rams will help, if asked to.

"As it stands we have had no formal contact from the FA in regards to the incidents that occurred at full time, while Nottingham Forest's management and players were celebrating their victory," he said.

"Mark Arthur (Nottingham Forest Chief Executive) apologised to Nigel Clough at full-time and to a number of our directors, so I believe both clubs can work together to make sure the fallout from this incident is dealt with in a professional manner.

"As Nigel Clough has already stated, he headed for the dressing room immediately on the full-time whistle, as he did last season when we won there twice. So, the manager will take time to review and assess what took place.

"Indeed, there were no complaints made by Nottingham Forest about the conduct of any of our players or officials last season, so we find it puzzling that issues regarding those fixtures are being aired now in relation to the events of this weekend.

"I think one thing that needs pointing out is the tremendous conduct of both sets of supporters on the afternoon; in a week when the spotlight has been on the behaviour of fans, the reaction from the supporters inside the City Ground was exemplary.

"The away end was completely sold out and our fans gave the team great backing; there is a tremendous togetherness at our club and the connection between the dressing room and the terraces is a big positive for us."

Now, I would make some comments on this but it's really wound me up. *swear word goes here _ _ _ _ *

Mark Arthur apologised for what? Winning, the poor catering or the fact Nigel is a crap manager?

I doubt anyone as canny as Marthur would apologise for the incident as its tantamount to accepting blame (as I think someone else pointed out on another thread).

for me the fact that mark aurthur apoligised just shows me how much he bloody knows about football and how intouch with the fans and players he was when it came down to this game.

Mark Arthur apologising for a players niavity, probably in the heat of the situation he thought it best to do that .Clearly however this is a mistake, as the Derby board should be the ones complaining for failing to control their players.

There maybe trouble ahead, David Pleat wasn't you Chief Executive at Spurs? lol

Who says he apologised, Nigel Clough. Bearing the amount of shit coming out of his mouth about the incident I'd take it with a pinch of salt. If it was made at all it might have been a very general apology that Glick is spinning to make it a virtual acceptance of blame.

It doesn't sit right with BD's vehement defence of Tyson last night.

Words are easily twisted, maybe a comment along the lines of ''Sorry it had to end like that'', I have no idea what was said, but I'm sure you know what I mean.

Surely he must realise this is the whole point?! :suicide:
We didnt complain, so are anrgy theyve chosen to complain in the same circumstances.

I believe Mark Arthurs exact words to Nigel were

"I really am very sorry we beat you today. I cannot apologise enough for the way we destroyed your crap team of non leagers in the 1st half. I just hope that one day, when all this has blown over, you will be able to forgive us for daring to employ a much better manager than you, who not only knows how to deal in the transfer market, but he is also tactically aware when it comes to picking his team. Also, on behalf of Mr Doughty, Mr Davies, and everyone else on the Acquisitions Panel, i can only apologise for investing in much better players than you over the summer. The fact that we dared to buy league players worth more than 50k was a real cheek i know, but the contracts are signed now and so there is nothing we can do about it. I dont mean to rub your nose in it Nigel, but your a shit manager and you are way out of your depth in the football league... and for that i really am sorry. I can only apologise further for the antics of your homosexual caption Robert Savage, i appreciate no one else wants him and so you are stuck with him for now, but yet again, on behalf of everyone at Nottingham Forest i can only say that i am truly sorry about this. As for your chairman, well, if he ever removes the cheque book from his anus you may be able to do better than relying on freebies like Commons from us. Its a shame you had to substitute him at half time though Nigel,, David Pleat and myself were only saying at half time what a wonderful contribution he made to our third goal. So for now,, until January, i bid you farewell my friend"

They've probably watched it about 200 times and are still scratching their heads as to exactly why Derby kicked up such a fuss.

I wouldn't get arsed about corporate press release nonsense over any other issue so I'm not about to get arsed about it over this triviality. It only becomes something other than a platform for bad journalism, Nigel Clough and Robert 'savage' Savage if Tyson get the book thrown at him.

And if it does (which half of us secretly want it to for this very reason) he becomes a martyr to the badge and is elevated to the status of first real legend at the club since possible Psycho or someone.

Personally I'd like to see the FA dismiss the issue having viewed the clear and irrefutable evidence. If they do not, I would like the club to launch a legal challenge and let a judge, jury or whatever such a case would warrant decide, though I honestly doubt they (the club) would.

I've never head of this Tom Glick before.... <googles>

Jesus, he's really got a record in PR and marketing hasn't he?

Unless the wheels really fall off Nigel's bandwagon, Derby shouldn't go hungry while he's about.

When we look as Derby bias in television at the moment, there might be something in it - I'd imagine he's gone down REALLY f***ing well in media circles since he arrived. It's also a smart press release today, to the majority who will be less arsed about details.
