Derby CEO says Club want 'fair and just' outcome to Forest issue
Derby County CEO and President Tom Glick says he has every confidence that the FA will conduct a full, fair and just enquiry into the post-match scenes at the City Ground, following Nottingham Forest's 3-2 win over the weekend.
The Football Association have said they will investigate 'as a matter of urgency' incidents that followed the full-time whistle.
Tom Glick says the Rams will help, if asked to.
"As it stands we have had no formal contact from the FA in regards to the incidents that occurred at full time, while Nottingham Forest's management and players were celebrating their victory," he said.
"Mark Arthur (Nottingham Forest Chief Executive) apologised to Nigel Clough at full-time and to a number of our directors, so I believe both clubs can work together to make sure the fallout from this incident is dealt with in a professional manner.
"As Nigel Clough has already stated, he headed for the dressing room immediately on the full-time whistle, as he did last season when we won there twice. So, the manager will take time to review and assess what took place.
"Indeed, there were no complaints made by Nottingham Forest about the conduct of any of our players or officials last season, so we find it puzzling that issues regarding those fixtures are being aired now in relation to the events of this weekend.
"I think one thing that needs pointing out is the tremendous conduct of both sets of supporters on the afternoon; in a week when the spotlight has been on the behaviour of fans, the reaction from the supporters inside the City Ground was exemplary.
"The away end was completely sold out and our fans gave the team great backing; there is a tremendous togetherness at our club and the connection between the dressing room and the terraces is a big positive for us."
Now, I would make some comments on this but it's really wound me up. *swear word goes here _ _ _ _ *
