He knows the score , will have full disclosure on how Forest operate transfer wise.. and signed the contract .
He's not backward in coming forward though if he's unhappy about something and he knows he's got the security of a huge contract if he's sacked for running his mouth.

Not that we're anywhere near this stage yet but one thing that might keep him in check is reputation damage, being publicly defiant is possibly what brings him to Forest rather than Liverpool or Chelsea etc and if he does it again it might kill any hope he has of landing a top job.

Posted by an Italian journalist who is followed by Romano. I can imagine the champions league would be a big draw but the traffic in Rome!

Seems like price has gone up from €25mn to €30mn. Will be interesting to see if both Forest and Roma ready to pay that

There has to be a balance. Some would find a way to praise the club if Oli McBurnie and Mason Greenwood were signed this window.

If we have a good window of both ins and outs, I'd say so of course.
Are you Omar?

DiMarzio reporting that he wants to go to Roma.

We had a 3 week free run at him, he wanted to come, we wouldn't meet their €25m valuation and now we have offered that amount but (unsurprisingly) a bigger team have swooped in.

We need Diomande over the line ASAP or I can feel a Glasner strop coming on.

A Glasner strop may well happen but given his 13m per year contract I can’t see him wanting to walk away and surely we can’t be affording to pay him off (especially as it sets the bench mark for how much an incoming manager will want too).

Let’s hope for all of our sake that we manage to not alienate Glasner and that signings are incoming

Sshhh you're not allowed to question our recruitment, if you do you obviously just want 40 signings no matter how shit they are, theres no middle ground you see....

We shouldn’t be missing out on a player we’ve chased for weeks over 2 or 3 million quid. I wouldn’t even deem that as overspending for a PL team especially one who’s not long had £116 Million dumped into their bank account.

We should’ve got it done weeks ago.

I don't either. Seemed very calm about singings on that Tree House, or whatever you call it, interview. Obviously that's an internal club production but there was no sense of panic on signings. Or on anything for that matter.

This is what happens when you piss about over £2M for a player you really wanted.
But you just don't know that was the case. What we actually have bid, what we value him at, what they actually wanted, when other teams got interested, how that changed their demands. Like all transfers, so many agendas, so many stories, most of them inaccurate. Only one thing that is evidential, Marinakis has always backed our transfer team, and our transfer teams over the last 5 years have generally got the big calls right.

I don't think it's a case of a couple of million pounds. I think our initial offers were like €17.5mn and i think €21 or 22mn. We were told that €25mn would clinch the deal, so that's why we (fans) thought we just needed to pay a couple of million more

But it seems Roma's bid of €25mn upfront was rejected and Feye want add-ons taking it to €30mn, so the gap is like €9mn or £8mn. Maybe we just feel that is too much.

Honestly, it's not worth losing any sleep or friendships over.

He's a good young fullback but he wouldn't start ahead of Williams or Aina for me. He missed 25 games last season through injury too.

He's gone from being a decent option but for the future to being more costly than Denzel Dumfries so so what of we miss out. I'd sign loads of players if the price is right but £25m on a player who's never played in the Premier is too big a risk and we aren't desperate.

If we spend £25m I'd probably see Rico Lewis or even that young guy at Genoa being better uses of the money.

None of us know anything about £2m or any of the negotiations . guess work from fans and journalists but zero facts known
Maybe but all the noise seems to point to us having a free run at him and then Roma agreeing to the fee they wanted.

Exaggeration aside, is that really the case Ewan?
Notwithstanding our disagreement about your desire for the club to be transparent about its targets and status of negotiations, I acknowledge your frustration regarding the lack of incomings (other than Shlager) so far. The issue for me, and others, are those on here who post guesswork and conjecture as accepted fact - particularly in terms of the manager's thoughts.

Not sure what the issue is there though?

We bid what we thought was fair value which was clearly less than Roma, that’s football.

Just because nobody has been publicly outed like Forest, I fully expect that Roma would have been in the ear of the club and player, at the very least with their intentions

You can't have it all ends up though chaps. You can't say we don't know what the figures are and also say it wasn't a couple of million.
