Giorgi Mamardashvili (BUPA)

It's very sudden but maybe sels failed his audition to be no. 1 in glasner's system. He doesn't looked convincing in his 3 games this season.

Brilliant shot stopper.

My gripe has always been that he never comes off his line on corners or crosses.

The other issue Glasner might have is with his feet. Ironically Sels hardly ever fluffs a kick but he's only got one preset button which is to lump it long to the left hand side of the pitch, it's too predictable.

If Glasner is wanting us to play out from the back more then we're going to need someone more comfortable playing out and also playing outside his box.

Should probably have kept Ortega if we're binning Sels

This is spot on. One of the reasons we always look susceptible at corners is that Sels is rooted to his line 99% of the time. Great shot stopper but he gives me the heeby jeebies when we concede a corner.
As Notcher said he’s also very predictable with the ball at his feet.

So in regards to this signing it would be an excellent one.

I wanted Liverpool to keep Kelleher to be honest, he'll be a great keeper but as he wanted to be number 1 at his age and didn't want to wait any more, which I understand, then Liverpool had to look elsewhere.

When Giorgi came in I didn't know much about him and thought he'd be a keeper who is happy to wait a couple of years before Allison moves on to then be number 1 for Liverpool.

But after seeing him play a few times I was really surprised that was his choice to wait, he's ready now to be number 1.

Firat few games were dodgy but then when he settled he showed some brilliant qualities and his size really is intimidating towards opposition.

He's not got great feet but I think he commands his area quite well and is a good shot stopper.

Thanks for the review on him. He’s always looked ok when I’ve seen Liverpool play (other halves household are die hard Reds). Doesn’t look at Alison’s level but not many keepers will. With the young Belgian signing for Liverpool, I’d like to think we have a good chance at pulling this off. However that’s for summer 2027 so Liverpool potentially adding another keeper? 🤔
