Get friggin Gunter!

Is there only me that thinks that besides a huge black striker (lucky we just got one ),
The most VITAL addition to the team we need to make is tying Gunter down to a season long loan move?!

Get that defense in shape and consistantly working as a unit is top priority IMO

give it time mate! we've only signed 3 players in 2 days....

He'll come to us, it's now just a case of waiting for our known targets to be announced and maybe a couple of surprises thrown in there...

Haha, your right your right, your so right.

I appologise for getting ahead of myself

Blackstock, Mckenna, Mills, Gunter. surely that would add strength to the team we have already! enough to see us prosper

I'm pretty confident he's coming, but I admit I have nothing concrete to base my confidence on, just these 'carpark sightings' and other 'reliable source' threads.

in view of Maloney going to the magpies I'd assume that Gunter is in line for a return in some way

No wonder my post count..

2 months of moaning about no signings.

Gunter was amazing last season. His attitude is spot on. I would go all out and try and buy the lad outright. There is always a price and he will be worth every penny.

Of all the loans we had last season he would have been my first chioce to re-sign.Please get the lad in!!!!!!

If we can believe all we hear - there was a price for Gunter (around £3 million). I say loan him and buy at New Year. Where's Osbourne? He's another lad who could be prised away from Villa on a permanent.

Gunter and Blackstock were the main reasons we improved last year. Anderson is a great signing for £250k but the other two are just o.k, they give us more numbers and options rather than improving on what we have.

If they are as well as Gunter, Blackstock and a CB then they are good. If they are instead of those players not so good. Good work so far Forest, but the most important signings are yet to be made. We could probably do without Blackstock now but Gunter, Lynch and a centre back need to be signed.

He's practically been begging to come. Get him signed before someone else does and offer a million for Rob Jones. My season ticket renewal cost me a lot of money. I don't think I can stand seeing us struggle all year.

I don't think that there is a limit to how good Gunter can be. Already a regular full international (even if it is in an emerging Wales team) and he showed me at Sheffield United in particular that he already has the maturity and positional sense, as well as the first touch and strength, to play at either left back or right back.

I we sign him we'll look back at him alongside Cohen as the players we build a team around. He's that good.

A bloke I know is currently working down at the City Ground doing some roofing repairs on the Main Stand and others areas and said he was a white car this morning pulling into the car park. Said he was 99% sure it was Chris Gunter.

Backs up someone elses reported sighting from the other day who said he'd seen Gunter in a white car.

If he joined he would be the best defender at the club, by quite a long way. He was bloody brilliant for the 7 or so games he played (bar Burnley - but everyone was cack).

Couldn't agree more. Hopefully he's ours.

Wasn't Burnley his first game though? He probably didn't even know everyone's names.

Another 'plus' for Chris Gunter is that he can also play in midfield (he played right-midfield for us a couple of times) so in essence, you could say for your £3m+ you're getting a lad who can play in three different positions, is markedly better than our current alternatives, and can also only improve.

He's played extremely well for Wales, he obviously enjoyed himself at Forest last season so let's get him signed up before someone else does.

Adebola for me was top priority as it was smacking us in the face last season how much we needed someone to hold up the ball upfront.
He's here..

Now I'd say its definatly Gunter top priority. Yes Maloneys out.. surely says it all..

I'd say after that, a centre back is needed to partner Wes.. as we've just filled that wide position with anderson.

Signing Mcgoldrick was a novelty really.. not essential.. but helps our chances

I can just picture BD sitting in a meeting with Arthur and Doughty....'well chaps I am a bit bored, I want something non essential and frivilous,I want a little novelty',

MA...' Party hats.....yo yo?'

BD ' nah man something bigger like a McGoldrick for 1 million' ::)

You disagree that there arnt more important/essential positions to fill?
Don't get me wrong its money well spent as hes a talent, but it is a novelty to add him in for the sake of another option

How is it a novelty?? He is BD'S choice, he is who he wanted which is why they agreed such a fee. How can you call that a novelty. For the sake of what other option? I am not sure what or who you are meaning.

There are other positions to fill and I have no reason to doubt that they will not be filled. BD promised changes and so far players have been signed with more to come. They are all good signings to strengthn areas of the team that needed it. He is no doubt working on the other areas as we speak.

Why is it that unless every detail of all dealings is in the public arena certain people start to worry and panic. BD is a new era, he does things his way and that involves discretion.

I wish we were rich enough to make novelty signings.

Then we'd have signed Rod Fanni after his trial with us and have an unexpected decent player.
