Hi all,

Posh fan here. Just want to say about Boyd. You've got yourself the best player i have ever had the joy of watching in our proud blue shirt. Boydie is an amazing talent, and he deserves this move as much as anyone.

For all those who don't know about him, he's a left winger, very skillful, he'll do things you just don't expect him to do, and fullbacks hate him. Sets up goals, scores goals. He can be frustrating, he'll try stuff and it doesn't always work, but don't get on his back, honestly, it works more than when it doesn't. He's also very good in the hole behind the front two where he can pull the strings and really run the game.

If he had pace, he'd be in the Premier League with a top 6/7 club, without a doubt. Though saying that, he's not as slow as some make out.

I, and many Posh fans, are absolutely distraught he's gone, as he really is an excellent player who has a very, very bright future in the game, but i wish him all the best as the 3 years he has been at this club, he has providing some of the most memorable moments i've ever experienced as a Posh fan. I wish him and Forest all the best for the rest of the season. It's a sure thing you'll have a lot of Posh fans watching you and Boyd's progression. I really hope you go up so he has the chance to experience the Prem.

Good luck!

Please change all references to the word "Peterborough" to "Stoke" and all references to "Boyd" to "Commons" and discuss.....

Surprised the Posh let him go, its a big dent in their fading hopes of survival. All the best.

Boyd works hard, has proven his consistency and rarely gets injured.

Just because he's a left sided flair player doesn't make him Commons.

I agree with It's Baggio, the appearances statistic is almost unprecedented for a winger.

If he's like a fit Kris Commons with a good attitude and not a Judas, we've got ourselves a very good player.

Not saying he IS a Commons, but I remember Commons' first few games with us, and the glowing tributes with which he left his old place and joined us...

Hope he turns out better long-term...

Do you? I remember a few Stokies registering and telling us he'd be good for 6-7 games at a time then get injured, and that he was fat, much like we told Derby fans...

Something like that perhaps...I'm suffused in a rosy glow right now...

Someone said he was very good, though...

i was dreading Saturday as was thinking we might be in line for our first home defeat in ages, now I cant wait as this is just what we needed to kick start out last push for 2nd place, will this loan cover the play offs? and anyone else have a feeling there might be 2 more before Saturday?

George Boyd is a quality player, who will give us a different dimension from the left of midfield.

First time in possibly ages we've had a player who offers us something different.

And of course don't forget that something else from the left of midfield, that is an attacking threat, takes the pressure off our left back (whoever that happens to be!)

I'd be highly surprised (and disappointed) if Cohen didn't start at left back with Ando on the right.

He seems like a very grounded guy. For those of you who can't access Forest Player, he was asked if he knew anything of Middlesboro's alleged interest and he just said 'as soon as I knew Forest were in for me, that's where I wanted to go'.

TBH, he does look like a Tyson replacement and I love Nathan for a million reasons which I'm sure we all share. But hey, these things happen outside of our control and whether it's George Boyd firing us to greater things or Nathan responding to the challenge, I'm sure the club can only benefit from getting their hands on another young talent.

I echo PoshPaul. You have got the best player I have seen play for Posh in 30 years watching.

He has played a club record of 144 consecutive games and has never caused a sniff of trouble, even this season when as you can imagine all sorts of sh*t is flying about. Fantastic team player, and a great bloke. The only player in our team good enough for the Championship and beyond, which is why we are going down!

One thing he lacks as a winger is pace, but then Beckham wasn't exactly quick. Not comparing him, but the point is Boyd's skill means he does not have to beat people with pace. There will be times when he looks like he has no control of the ball but then all of a sudden turns two player inside out and delivers a killer ball.

You can tell I am sad! Pleased he has gone to you, I live in Nottm so will follow his progress closely as will many posh fans.

I agree, you only need a left back and you've got yourself a strong squad to end the season on. I think the main thing that should encourage all forest fan's is that billy seem's to be signing young, talented player's who in two or three season's time will be good enough to really compete in the prem. By that I mean mid table, let's not get carried away!!!

Boyd is a quality addition and with him on one wing and anderson on the other you've really got a fantastic pair of winger's there. Of course all of this is making me sick as billy did'nt do this for us and boyd look's to be as good as common's except his hamstring's arent made of soggy paper!!! But ah well, never mind.

Thanks for that :)

He sounds like a brilliant player, hopefully he can help us get into the Premiership!

Good luck to yourselves by the way, I'd rather not see Posh go down to be honest :( However, even if you do go down I'm sure you will flourish in League 1! :D

The funny thing is Billy made these types of signings at Preston as well(young and upcoming talent from the football league).Just signed crap at your place, ensured your squad wasn't up to the premiership and not good enough to bounce back. Then Doughty did the best thing he's ever done and pulled Agent Billy out of his sabotage job after it was complete and appointed him to take us back to the premiership and stay there ;).

Seriously mate,it's nice to get a balanced assessment from a Ram for a change on here, and even a hint of praise for Billy is a bonus. To return the compliment by your own standards your not doing so bad yourselves and I'm probably in the minitory in thinking Clough will see you right in the the end though the way he conducts himself on the touchline and how your team behaves will make the old man turn in his grave.
