Garry Birtles interview

Resident foodie!
Been asked by the good people at Shoot to plug this, so clicking and reading would be good of you all :)

Thank you!

Tell them we don't, and never have, played at The County Ground.

Shitbirds.

I used to quite enjoy reading Shoot! as a child, but if they make such stupid errors in their pieces as that then it's no wonder the magazine became defunct.

He's a miserable git and there's a good chance he'll be eating those words come the end of the season, i still think playoffs are a very realistic prospect. Not that playoffs are a good prospect as a forest fan. Automatic, or not promoted seems to be the deal.

Birtles is an old hero of ours. Problem is that he's acting like a manic depressive. Forest have shown that we can play well this season - when we reach 6th or above, no doubt he'll do another article saying how we'll be promoted. Not much real insight in his article.

Hope both Robertson & Woodcock have a significant amount more to talk about tomorrow than our old friend Barry Girdles.

Reason the interview took place was to see if they could get any 'information' out of him about the goings-on at the club but he was much more guarded when on 'official' duty...

He doesn't know anything...

I know - that's the conclusions we came to when he didn't say anything in an interview. Someone as outspoken as Birtles would have said it if he knew anything.

Especially if you were wafting a few tenners in front of his nose.

Does Birtles visit the City Ground much ?

Seems like because he works as a commentator for Sky (a poor one IMO) and was a very good player for us that he can come out with this rubbish and everyone takes it as gospel.

From what I read and hear from the man he's a bloody prize tit.

his daughter is fit though.

I used to love the Player interviews on the back of Shoot.
I am probably talking 70/80s now.

My favourite questions were:
Favourite Food: The answer was always Steak and Chips
If you weren't a footballer, what do you think you would be: I'm sure at one stage Psycho answered 'I am an electrician'.
