Garner

Is anyone else worried for his future at the club?

He seemed to fall out of favour when Billy came in, which is a shame as for a young lad he seems a very talented player. He also has that slightly mean streak which I felt we were lacking (I saw him on a number of occasions winding up opposition defenders - and of course our winning free kicks ratio would go up about 200% when he was playing). With potentially 5 other strikers to compete with I am worried he is going to become, and rightly so, disillusioned with life at the City Ground.

Personally, out of Earnie, Tys, McGoldrick, Garner and Adebola I would rate Earnie and Joe as our leading strikeforce.

Thoughts?

i hope he does not get disillusioned at forest think this lad has got a big future but is up to him if he does well in pre season he will play when the season starts think all the strikers will play their part next season!

BD is a very clever man and has a number of strikers that will all play in the games that will suit them best.

Other than Earnshaw there's no certain striker to start and I'm excited for the first time in decades we have a number of options up top.

Think you will find out, there was a frank exchange of opinions between the pair, there can only be one winner in a situation like this. I did hear that Billy Davies solution was unorthodox but did bring about the desired effect on Garners attitude.

Sometime's, someone tells you something in complete confidence, I respect that and would never break that trust. I put things on here to either answer someone's questions or raise an issue, never to boast about Inside Info etc to try and boost my ego. At my age ego boosting is a thing of the past ;D, If I still neeed it I have failed miserably.

Lets just say BD let him and all the squad know that he is a manager not to take liberties with.

Saw him in Victoria Centre yesterday with Aaron Davies & Matt Thornhill, all had JD sale bags with them and were having a laugh as they went up the escalators.

It's fair enough if Billy has told him and the squad in no uncertain terms knuckle down or bogger off.

But lets just hope he does find a way of bringing the best out of Garner. It's not uncommon for him to alienate a clubs best strikers is it *cough*Earnshaw*cough*

Saw him in town today as well, quietly enjoying his ice cream, sadly some of it was around his mouth :D

Met he a few time and it was clear that him and Billy don't see eye to eye and I think he was looking at other options. However this was before he got a run in the side so this might have changed.

when he tried to sell him a day after he signed him at derby.

What did that T-shirt under his direby shirt actually say ? Have a feeling it was a Forest badge

Regardless of his relationship with BD, I would certainly be disappointed if he was sold.

Like most other people, I think Garner is a rare talent and potentially the best of all our strikers.

If he plays like a demon, is he worthy of the chant:

Zigger zagger zigger zagger Joe Garner

???????????

Billy came in last season and had to hit the ground running. Some of us didn't like him slagging off the players publicly but I seem to remember Garner coming in for real praise after the Blackpool game away where he had a great game. Billy isn't daft enough surely not to recognise Garner's potential. Already he has the ability to prevent opponents resting for a minute - nicely in their faces all the time. A little hot- headed sometimes but a real handful. If he does get loaned out, it will be to extend his football education. I'd keep him.

If he can't eat an ice cream properly we should let him go.

I think Garner is quality, there many things Garner can offer to Forest.
Hopefully, he can keep a positive attitude and keep in the 1st team

He did fall out of favour because he was at the time being lazy and looked uncommited. He was therefore dropped for a short while and then was brought back in by this point he had improved and was working a lot harder BD made sure the media made note that he was impressed with the improvement Garner had made.

It was a good move by BD all he did was give him a good kick up the backside.

Watching his interviews he seems to have a bit of an attitude tbh. Don't know why but just how he comes across. There's no doubt that he has a great future ahead of him, arguably one of the best finishers at the club and a great vision.

Once Billy gets his hands on him maybe we could see a Nugent MK2 on the way ! (before he was crap !)
