Garath McCleary

Maybe this should go in the Leicester City matchday thread?

But he was so good today, I thought he deserved a thread to himself.

Amazing performance when he came on. He skinned his full-back twice within 5 minutes of being on the pitch.

* Put an near-perfect cross on to Adebola's head, which was guided just inches overe

* Put another near-perfect cross onto Earnshaw's boot, which unfortunately Earnie didn't quite connect with

* Put in a great run into the box, shot on target to force a rebound and set-up the fifth goal

10/10 for him today, he could prove to be a great 'super-sub' if he keeps playing like that.

Having him and McGugan as impact players is an incredible asset to this team.

Im a big fan of his. To be fair, he came into a team that were cruising against a beaten side, but he was good.

People seriosuly underrate his crossing ability. He finds a red shirt more often than not. I think he will be a late developer. He doesn't rely too much on pace like Tyson and Anderson and can dribble and cross better than those two.

He just needs to up his work rate and make better decisions sometimes.

Felt a bit sorry for him being left out after playing quite well against Doncaster. But, as SuperScab says, very impressive cameo today. Definitely looks an exciting prospect!

McCleary is Harewood mk 2. He's got magic in his boots that most players just havn't got, but there will be a season or two of bad decisions and corner flag shots before he really learns his craft.

When he does, we've got a hell of a player on our hands.

Good game last week, wonderful this week.

Nearly created a goal with his first touch - now, just waiting for zigga-zagga to recount how shit he is again ...

He came on against a side that was dispirited and beaten.

The full backs had already had a torrid afternoon - In fact, the whole Leicester defence had gone into trauma every time we ran at them.

I take nothing away from him because he was outstanding, but he'll find it much harder against a fresh opposition with a game to be won.

A sub to terrorise tired defences is what he will be best at this season. He may develop more in the future.

Yes he'll find it harder against fresher oposition but how often does he beat his marker whether it be in the first 15 or the last it happens. It seems easy to find fault with him because of his background. But for me he is one of the most exciting prospects at the club. And his crossing was excellent today, something fans seem to think he cannot do which is so untrue.

I wasn't finding fault with him.

Just observing that today the managers tactics were spot on and made it so much easier for him.

I think it was the opposition, rather than the managers tactics, that made it easier for him.

I'm in a positive (and alcohol induced) mood tonight - but I think our tactics played a large part in today's game. Not only did they allow us to play but they threw Leicester off balance and stopped them from playing their game.

Yes he had a good game yesterday - oops sorry he had a good 29 minutes against a team that had no clue against any form of speed and were already 4 - 0 down!

This was his best performance in a Forest shirt but I repeat that our first team is NOT the place to learn your trade - he should be out on loan in January to a club that will give him regular games (not 30 minutes) and come back when he's learned his trade.

He will be better off somewhere else in January anyway as I have it on good authority that BD has been given the go ahead to sign THREE new players.

Leave him as a super sub. If he goes out on loan down to div1 or 2, they'll kick lumps out of him. He'll end up permanently injured or slower.
The games are coming thick and fast now and if we have a decent cup run we might need to rest Ando now and again.

We all know that Forest supporters on here and all other popular related boards needs someone to kick when things aren't going well.

Yesterday, it would be difficult for any of us to point a finger and say "He's a plonker or another **** up by so & so.

Some supporters can't wait for their favourite 'hate player' to make a mistake, in order to throw their abuse at them.

I'm glad for McCleary - every time he does come on at least he will give you one hundred percent. To me he is a team player that is learning all the time and will get even better with those around him. The background training staff seem to be bringing out the best - not only in McCleary but one or two others as well.

For those who love to boo or chant abuse - don't worry - James Perch will be getting his chance before long so please don't get too despondant.

I think hes getting better and better as time goes on, good game yesterday when he came on, he adds so much to the team..

The leicester defenders were shellshocked and frankly speaking , had been ran ragged and ripped new assholes by our attacking players , if mcleary had problems doing anything to them , he should be loaned out straight away.

Every time McCleary comes on he creates a chance either through his pace or directness. His best performance was probably at home to Coventry last season. I'm personally very happy that he has evolved into a very good option, not only as a sub but to start games. For £20k, I congratulate whoever spotted him.
