Just wanted the thoughts of the esteemed posters on this - are QPR well on the way to having the league championship wrapped up already?

We're barely into November, with just over a 1/4 of the season gone, and these boys look really good for the league already. Forest are 12 points behind and picking up a win every 3 games (ish). Paddy Kenny has not conceded a goal in 9 games and apart from the last two games against good opposition (Norwich, Swansea) they've been knocking goals in for fun. Still early days I know, but I for one am not looking forward to playing them on 13th November - if we play like we did against Boro they will punish us. Also, it will be interesting to watch them on TV this Friday; are they hitting some momentum, or are they genuinely a good side?

Here's hoping for some good football and to put Ipswich to the sword on Saturday. Lets get behind the team too, it was like a morgue on Tuesday. You reds!
 
Dont qpr do this most seasons, where they have a great run of 7 or 8 games and then completely implode? Maybe this is thier year?
 
I thought you meant the snooker hall on Carlton Hill was closing!

Warnock + Volatile Board = Potential for team to implode as soon as there is any disagreement between manager and board.
 
You only have to look at last season as to how quickly the top spot can change. Newcastle were nowhere near it come January, but then they stormed ahead.

I remember Newcastle being top for the majority of the season and were definitely top in January.
Infact the evening that we beat WBA, Newcastle were top on 51 points while we were 2nd on 46
 
Top spot for me had gone as soon as we kicked off the campaign against Burnley.

I don't think QPR will be champions, more likely Cardiff.
 
They seem to be getting a bit of luck going their way, missed penalties in the last few games, etc. They'll be in the auto promotion mix up for sure but like RLP, I think Cardiff will win the league.

Even if we were in the shake up now, I doubt we'd have the squad depth to sustain a run for long enough to be in the top 2. We ran out of steam from Feb onwards last year and our squad is even smaller this season.
 
I don't believe the tables hold much meaning and relevance before Christmas. It's nice to look at if you're top half but a couple of wins / loses can change things beyond recognition.

Newcastle and West Brom performed 'consistently' well and finished well but not without a blip or two mid way. We started poorly, had a great run and fizzled out. There are simply too many connotations to consider.

Having said all that, QPR are looking very strong and I fully expect them to stay within the top three through to May.
 
Ask Leeds and Norwich fans about having a big lead....though obviously you'd rather have their total than ours. Interesting Flavio has only just said his dream is to appoint Lippy if they make the top flight. Do you think Colin liked that?

Newcastle were 6 points clear at Christmas
 
I don't believe QPR have got the top spot 'tied up'. Any one of the top four have as much chance of each other up there.
 
no, that's silly talk. There are 102 points left available and we're only 12 points off the top.

QPR can't deal with success; they simply don't understand the concept. At some point either some relegation threatened prem team will sack their manager and Colin will move there or he will simply fall out with board.

IMO Cardiff are a lot more likely to remain in the top two than QPR are.
 
I don't like Warnock. I don't like teams who get new owners, a big influx of cash and buy their way to success. I like teams who manage to maintain their profile somewhere in the doldrums and don't buy any players like Forest.

Five games ago QPR were 6 points clear - if Cardiff win tomorrow they will be level on points. That's how quickly it changes!
