We have a total of five players in the top 50. (Six including George Boyd)

Newcastle also have five, as do West Brom.

Our players featured in the top 50 are, in reverse order:

Rob Earnshaw (21)
Paul Anderson (19)
George Boyd (16)
Wes Morgan (10)
Paul McKenna (6)
Lee Camp (4)

No Cohen in the top fifty and not even mentioned in the 'nearly men' along the bottom, which kind of lets the whole thing down. Cohen's easily better than Earnshaw in terms of getting into this list - as is Dex.

Camp is officially (kinda) the best goalkeeper in the Football League.

Those lists are always to be taken with a lethal dosage of salt but I'm pleased to see we managed to get Camp to 4th. Keepers are nearly always overlooked for the top positions in this sort of thing so it's nice to see a change.

By the way, we vote to get them on the shortlist and then the players are picked by a massive panel of 'experts'.

Like you say, I take it with a pinch of salt because there has to be a distribution across the leagues.

Robbie Savage is 18th. lol

Cohen being missed out was a shame, but the reason he wouldn't have been in the "nearly men" at the bottom, is because those are the best players of each club who didn't have a player in the top 50 :)

It also mentions at the end 4 players who would have been in, were it not for the rules that they don't include players on loan from clubs outside the football league (Majewski and Cleverly) or players who were transfered in January out of the leagues (Adam Johnson and Moses)

Gordan Strachan voted Paul Anderson his number 2 and Dexter his number 4, and Clem from the Footie League Show voted Lee Camp his number 1 :)

I know these lists are easy to pull apart and they can't please everyone, but I think Cohen, Wilson and Blackstock are arguably our three best players.
