Forests big 4. What's the odds on them staying?

I am a bit gutted that even if we stay up (which i think we will), 4 players -when fit- will play week in week out. Do you think we'll keep any of them?

Lynch - probably. Might develop into something.
Anderson - Can't see it. Just signed new contract with Liverpool and looking like he might be very good quite soon.
Osbourne - Again. Can't see it. New contract and highly rated by O'Neil.
McSheffrey - Maybe. Tendonitis is not short term and they might want to get something back for the 4m they spent on him.

What do you think?

Osbourne is out of contract in the summer isn't he? I'm sure if he impresses will offer him a contract.

Anderson only got a contract from Liverpool to beef up his price tag.

Its the American Owners way.

If he can constantly reproduce the way he played the past 2 games, we should sign him up as he will be a decent left back to keep Bennett on his toes, competition for the LB position isnt what we've be used too in recent years.

Shows he has something about himself, he has pace and a decent shot, still young enough to get better, and i can see why Liverpool would want to keep hold of him.

Osbourne - Again. Can't see it. New contract and highly rated by O'Neil.
Very similar to Moussi but not as strong, they worked well together against Swansea and would be a good player to keep hold of.

McSheffrey - Maybe. Tendonitis is not short term and they might want to get something back for the 4m they spent on him.
You can clearly see he has a bit of class about him, you have to remember he has been out for 4 months, for him to produce a display like he did yesterday and not even be match fit, just shows what a deadly player he could be with the more he plays.

Osbourne would be a great acquisition. Despite him being only 21, he is so powerful in the air and on the ground.. he just needs to work on his passing game.. slows down the play when he intercepts a pass and comes out on the break.

I think of these players, Osbourne is the LEAST likely to stay. It would be MON's way to develope him into a Villa player. I think we've got a chance of all the others - Anderson's future at Liverpool will be restricted by their foreign managers who will be wanting to bring in proven expensive foreign imports, not wait for a player to develop.

I think if he keeps up his recent form, we should try and sign Lynch; we are short of defensive cover (remember, he's really centre-back!)

Anderson I would love us to sign; but it really comes down to two things, firstly does he want to stay (or return to Liverpool) and second, *if* they would sell him, could we afford him? I guess they would want at least £2 million for him (?) if not more; he would be guaranteed regular football here, whereas at Liverpool he wouldn't - no disrespect to the lad (I think he's a cracking player) but I can't see him getting a look-in at Liverpool?

Osbourne looks a decent prospect, again (granted on the evidence of two matches) he looks certainly more than good enough for us, but as with Anderson, it would come down to if Villa wanted to sell, could we afford him (and would he want to come?)

McSheffrey is more of a straight-forward choice; I'm not sure that McLeish really rates him, he was very quick to let him out on loan, so - again, if Birmingham wanted to sell and we could afford it - we might be in with a chance.

Of course, this all assumes we stay up (but if we didn't we might still get Lynch!)

I have it on good authority that they will all stay

I think it's likely that Ando will be allowed to go out on loan again.

If Lynch continues to show his form of the last 3 games then he should be offered a deal and has indicated he would like to stay. Probably for a modest fee.

Anderson would cost decent money but I reckon Liverpool would sell given the right price. I really rate him and, being fairly local, we'd be in with a good shout as long as we stay up.

Osbourne is out of contract in the summer and hasn't made an impact at Villa this season so you guess that MON might be willing to deal. Whether Osbourne would want to make it permanent is less certain.

Unclear whether McLeish rates McSheffrey, as he's been injured for so much of his period in charge. If Brum go up then I reckon they'll let him go, but if they fail then he would be a big player for them in CCC next season.

I've always been of a mind that we need to focus on the defence in the summer. Although I think it would be helpful, I'm coming round to the view that we should prioritise Anderson, Osbourne and McSheffrey. Firstly, we would dominate games more and the defence wouldn't be under the amount of pressure they have been this season - Saturday's game showed that. It would also free Perch to concentrate on battling with Moloney for the RB spot. With Lynch looking better at LB and Bennett fit again, and Morgan / Wilson / Chambers battling for CB spots we would look okay.

It's interesting, because if Forest buy wisely in the summer (or rather, with Doughty and Arthur in charge - if we sign anyone at all) then the loan signings we have currently may become obsolete.

Osbourne - Not seen enough of him to make any judgement.
McShefferey - see above.
Anderson - Will not get in the Liverpool squad if you gave him a million years.
Lynch - I wouldn't care less if he never played for us again.

The real question is...which of the four will Derby sign, just to piss us off? My moneys on Anderson...

Disagree, I would say that he is the most likely to stay. Broke through initially into first team squad but this season has been largely ignored by O'Neil. He has not developed to Premiership level and O'Neil has some very good midfielders in the squad.

Lynch to go, Anderson to go, Osbourne to stay and possibly McSheffrey as well especially if Birmingham go up.
