Not only is there a local derby to police but an hour after the match there is a planned anti islamic extremism protest in Nottingham City Centre which will mean a counter protest by anti fashist protesters. If it is anything like whats gone on in Bilrmingham and Manchester recently then the police will be having a long day!!!.

Scandalous and Shameless
In addition, my understanding is that before the match The 2 Mercian regiment are doing a parade around Nottingham city centre, following their return from Afghanistan.

Stuart Pearce
Excellent, they can kick the arses of the Muslims.

Just kidding, before I attract massive attacks for being racist and all that.

The regiment could stay on though to make sure the protest is a quiet one.

(Yes, I did read anti-Islam, I'm being facetious.)

Maybe police already know about it that why the leicester game was moved forward to 1pm start?

hopefully on that day both sets of fans will just enjoy the game.

Have any of our French Branch ever attended a Paris St Germain game? I believe they have two segregated sets of home fans who hate each other. The French born White Right wingers and those of N.African/ Mid East Islamic origin.
When they played FC Hapoël Tel Aviv in the UEFA in 2006 it all got very confusing!!!! but sadly "took off" with fatalities resulting.

Is that right? I've never heard of that before.
It makes "Trent End, give us a song" seem a bit tame.

I doubt it as a only a couple of weeks ago the EDL protest was the day of the Bristol game. The irony is groups like the UAF moan about the BNP and EDL yet its their failure to campaigna against extremist Islamic groups in this country who spout just as much bile as the BNP that has created this void that the extreme right have latched onto

I agree mate.
I have a number of Jewish friends who are involved in Human Rights Issues and are very anti the current Israeli Govt and are anti-Zionist. They are regularly on the local radio stations condemning the Israeli Govt and Army as Jews, but I have only met TWO Muslims in SA (and I am friends with many) who has openly criticised Islamic Extremism. In fact the only voice I have heard officially on the radio is a Muslim Academic in Pretoria and he was silenced with death threats.

In a couple of weeks time Prof Adam Habib a well known and respected local Muslim academic is giving a talk in our Synagogue!
It is the brain-dead twisted radicals we need to marginalise!

Yep, it is less bad than it was , but they do have to keep the two ends away from each other.

So wearing my Forest Yarmulke to a game could be a tad risky then? Hahahahaha

Wow never knew about this. Went to a PSG game a few years ago on Eurostar having bought home tickets on t'internt. Never gave a thought to trouble amongst the home fans!

Great atmosphere though - flares and firecrackers galore!! The Parc des Princes is a great place to watch footy too.
