Jules is obviously grateful for the way he was brought up by his parents and I'm sure he knew many others personally who weren't so lucky, and so is intent on helping people in the area he grew up in.

He's a proud guy; proud of where he's from, and proud of his upbringing.

I like him a lot and like you say, Barack, he's becoming a bit of a hero.

Nice to hear that stuff about Julian. I'm sure a lot of them do their bit as well. Indeed, I've rarely heard about any of it though... great marketing.

Fair play to Jules, he is fast becoming a bit of a hero. I'm sure he doesn't do it for the publicity though, and he probably wouldn't want it anyway. You can't turn this story into a negative surely?!

Never seen them online, and it's not negative about Jules. Just saying that the amount he does off his own back surely deserves recognition on a local level. Maybe there's an odd pic or 2 of him as there are many players !

Well you probably won't have seen them because they aren't in the sports section (in the actual paper, not sure about online) but a quick search that took about 10 seconds I found this.

Did you search for bennett, charity or something ? My point still stands anyway. The NEP isn't the OS is it !

I've seen something about Jules in the Evening Post before (someone at work leaves the odd copy in the kharzi, honest).

Strange that the club haven't made more of it though!

Who hates Bennett?

There may be some debate over his ability but even the most negative of Forest fans can't fault his desire and commitment.

It's tricky marketing based on charitable projects or works - because people can become very cynical about it, plus believe it or not there will be some folks who will identify the areas Jules chooses to assist (presumably the Meadows) and then criticise him that he's too focused on those areas and not others.

As others have, you can only applaud Benno on this, and I don't think you can criticise Forest's lack of exploiting the situation for good PR or marketing opportunities in this case. That's not to say Forest's marketing isn't generally pretty woeful though.

my Mrs used to work with bennetts mum, and my Mrs' mum still does, you'll hear nothing but praise from either about her and her family. 8)
