Forest missing a trick?

I didn't even bother trying to apply for Derby tickets. I've been to 4 away games on my client reference so I didn't even bother waiting to be disappointed.
I am gutted because I've been to every game Forest have played at Pride Park and obviously we've not won yet! This is the best chance we've ever had, and I'm going to miss it!

Anyway, to my point.

Why haven't Forest screened the game in the Pitch Sports Diner? They could charge entry of pretty much anything they saw fit and it would sell out in hours. Plus the money they'd take on ale and food and they would make a killing.
We all know Forest are money orientated when it comes to dealing with us fans, but they're so short sighted when it comes to opportunities to make money, whilst helping their loyal supporters.

I think they used to. It does seem wierd they don't offer a big screen or anything for those who can't get !

There was another thread on this, and somebody had emailed the club - the cost was apparently prohibitive.

My apologies, I'm a new member and only scrolled down the first page.

A beam back priced at about £10 a ticket would probably sell out the Trent end. I would have thought that would be worth doing. Even if it only breaks even at least the fans get to see it.

It would, of course, require some cooperation from Derby.

'Twas me wot emailed the club.

The operations manager said they had looked into it but the idea was 'cost prohibitive'.

I presume Derby wanted a fair chunk of cash for agreeing to it along with the cost of a screen and security etc...

To be fair to them, they do need it !

I remember the game where we lost 4-2 under Hart with the coffee cup. I had tickets when they were going to show it in the pitch diner that day, but it was so windy at pride park they couldn't get the satelite dish up. I think after having to refund all the people who went along to that they never bothered again. ::)

Kinnear was manager that day, hart only 2 Derby games were at home 3-0 and 1-1.

I remember going to a beam-back in the Pitch a few seasons ago, so it was clearly cost-effective at one stage. The tv arial at Pride Park blew down though, and we all ended up sat there listening to Radio Nottingham :D And we lost, bloody Roche.

Given the demand for this game, the fact that it would probably fill a 60,000 stadium, never mind 30,000, you'd think something could be done wouldn't you? You'd think there would be some way of fulfilling this demand, even at a cost, if you think of the possibilities.

How about tickets for the beam-back £10, available to everyone who goes to a league-cup game or an FA cup game, hence making up the gap that way? How about something for charity? I dunno, I'm no marketeer, just find it a bit of a shame to have all those thousands of Forest fans sat on their arse on saturday afternoon with Radio Nottingham when they'd be gagging to see the game in some way.

I totally agree.

Think of all the beer that would get drunk too. I'm surprised someone, somewhere hasn't arranged something. :(

0-0 at Pride Park was a Hart game, I believe, and was televised. DJ had a perfectly good goal disallowed whilst Marlon Mk I spurned a glorious opportunity to win the game in the 90th - one-on-one but lacked the composure.

The same question was posted on the NEP forum and soemoene got a response back from an email to the club saying that Derby have refused the request on this occasion!

It wouldn't be a terrible idea for all clubs to offer beamback of games as it would mean alot more money in the coffers!

On this occasion it appears that derby are just being cnuts!!

I'll do a video conference call on my mobile - you can all go round me mam and dads in Bridgford to watch it.
Dad's got loads of John Smith left over from Christmas down the cellar and me mam'll do some corned beef sandwiches and crisps and that at halftime. Maybe some cheese spread for the vegetarians.
£82.68 a head.
Whadayasay?

Derby would want money, add in the amount it would cost for security, to open the ground etc and I imagine they would have to charge quite a bit.

Theres a lot of paperwork and redtape I imagine to open the ground even just for that.,

Highly likely to be the featured game on the Football League Show and if there are streams, DON'T POST THEM ON HERE OR COME ASKING FOR THEM!

I'll probably look online myself, though! lol

Newcastle v Leicester is the Sky game and the featured game on the Football League Show according to their website! Go figure!

What kind of crisps? I suppose you could get multipacks and we could chose.

For £86, we could probably have a bit of Branston on the corned beef

They normally have two longer 'feature' games don't they? The Sky one is always one as Sky will pay for the OB and then there is one other, like when we played the Swans in December.

Fingers crossed anyway.
