Forest I-player on I-pad

Got me posh new i-pad but didn't realise doesn't like adobe flash player, anyone got any ideas how I can get round it to set up forest i-player

I'm afraid you can't.. Apple won't countenance Flash and that's what powers Forest Player so afraid the only feasible way around it is if PremiumTV (the company that runs the various 'player' services) develop a format that will work on iPad/iPhone/iPod Touches.

^What Winnits said, but with added muttered "bastard Apple bastard bastards" :D

I love them, but haven't quite managed to justify the cost of one to myself yet lol

Don't just blame Apple; Flash is a pile of crap.

Hopefully Premium TV will develop an HTML 5 version of the site which will then run on an iOS device.

Yeah, Apple do have a point with their insistence, although it is a bit frustrating that they don't even offer the choice..

All you have to do is write to Premium TV (and the more that do it the more they take notice) and ask them to develop a version that works with Iphone/Ipad/Ipod.......

Use the "Contact Us" function on Player and just "Keep on moaning........"

When you write its always best to use the threat of cancelling service and be polite

"Dear Sir/Madam, I am very frustrated that I cannot use my Forest Player on my Iphone/Pad/Pod (delete as needed) as Apple will not allow the use of Flash on their devices. I cannot forsee this changing and so would ask can you please provide an alternate feed which is not Flash related and which will work on Apple devices. Most major organisations do now have an Apple friendly version as well.

I therefore request you also make an Apple friendly function or I shall have to seriously consider cancelling / not renewing my subscription".

You can also send an email to NFFC asking them to contact the company as well as NFFC will stand to also lose if you cancel your Forest Player subscription.

Given how many iPhones, iPod Touch and iPads there are out there I can't think they're not weighing up their options - the potential market for it is huge.

Might be a daft question, but does Forest player work with Macs in general i.e. macbooks, macbook pro, etc?

Forest player works fine on a Mac (I should know..)

They even advertise it as "Mac compatible".

Forest player does work for Macs, you can take it from me - I've got one! :smug:

Return it and get a Samsung Galaxy tab. Inferior hardware and such but you can put whatever Android you want on it if you've got the inclination.

Do Apple consumers feel happy to buy a car that'll only let you drive it down certain roads?

Jailbreaking is legal in the UK under the Copyright and Related Rights Regulations 2003 so long a you aren't infringing any copyright, i.e. copying or redistributing any code from iOS. Your warranty and terms of service will be compromised but jailbreaking is entirely reversible by using iTunes. Research before you start though. The closest anyone has come to getting done for it was when a company reverse engineered some code equivalent of iOS but even then the copyright holder did them for redistributing part of a manual, not copying the code. We're fine to talk about it on here, just like all the Apple related websites go on about it at length and still get sent Apple products to review!

Drifting yet further from Forest Banter, http://crapplestore.blogspot.com/?zx=dfd517d37cecb664 :D

Nor do Carlsberg. :D

Actually, what DO Carlsberg actually make?

I can't find anything for ipads but for iPod touches and iPhones you can use skyfire, cost about £2.00 from the AppStore and it allows you to play flash videos from your device, don't think it allows you to listen to the match commentary but you can watch highlights and access live streams. All I could think of for an iPad is the football league app, it's free from the AppStore, it let's you look at scores, tables etc... However if you go onto the video tab at the bottom it gives you an option to buy an add-on for £4.99, haven't tried it for myself yet but it says you can watch match highlights, interviews etc... Not 100% sure it's on the iPad but it's worth a look. Hope this helps :)

Yeah, I have the FL App for my iPhone and it's great for highlights :)

Apple don't make cars :D

Imagine if they did, every station would have a third set of pumps, in white, for the special fuel they'd run on which would be slightly more expensive than other fuel, the nozzle would be an entirely different shape to the one that works on all other vehicles and when the battery ran flat you'd need to send the car off to have a new battery fitted instead of changing it yourself.

/edit and there'd only be one button on the whole f***ing dashboard.

But it would be pretty and make people happy :)

Except the people that don't have them.
